As the official opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom approaches, D23 is gearing up to celebrate with a special screening of “TRON: Legacy” at AMC Dine-in Disney Springs 24 on Saturday, March 18.
D23, the official Disney Fan Club, has announced that both “gold” and “general” members are both invited to their choice of two screenings. A 3D screening will begin at 10:30 a.m. and a 2D screening will begin at 11:00 a.m. Both screenings will feature a special pre-show presentation that the group promises is “sure to delight fans of TRON and Disney Parks.”
D23 guests who make it to the special screening will receive an event-exclusive postcard featuring art from “TRON Lightcycle / Run” which was created by Walt Disney Imagineering. A medium-sized popcorn and beverage are also included.
“TRON: Legacy” is the 2010 sequel film to the 1982 original “TRON” that follows Flynn’s adult son Sam through “the grid” in search of his father. This Sci-Fi film was the inspiration behind Magic Kingdom’s newest roller coaster, TRON Lightcycle / Run, which opens to the public on April 4.
Tomorrow is shaping up to be a busy day for eager D23 members. D23 Gold Members will be able to register for TRON: Lightcycle / Run previews and register to attend the movie screening this weekend. Both the screening and the attraction previews are scheduled for Saturday, March 18.
General members can purchase up to four tickets for the “TRON: Legacy” screenings for $30 each, while Gold members can score tickets for $20 each. Tickets will go on sale on Thursday, February 16, and can be purchased by D23 members from the event’s dedicated landing page.
