While the Marvel presence at EPCOT is largely relegated to World Discovery and its flagship attraction Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, it seems traces of the blockbuster superhero universe are leaking into World Showcase in a rather unexpected way — with new travel poster-inspired banners installed in Disney Traders near the entrance from World Celebration.
The four travel poster-like banners are mounted on the four columns at the shop’s center.
The first showcases the Quantum Realm as visualized in “Ant-Man and the Wasp” rather than the latest installment which shows it more as a fantastical civilization. Red, blue, and green particles are visible throughout and it reads “You’re never too small to visit the Quantum Realm.”
The second depicts Wakanda from the “Black Panther” series, showing the natural African landscapes in the foreground as well as Warrior Falls. In the background is the capital city Birnin Zana. Below we see the slogan “Enjoy our lands and feel like a king.”
The Savage Land made its first appearance in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” as one of the many multiverses through which America Chavez was chased by the Scarlet Witch. While only seen briefly in the film, The Savage Land is very commonly used throughout Marvel Comics and may yet make a more major appearance in the MCU. The background shows a Sabertooth Cat among a fantastical lush background of trees and towering mountains. The tagline reads “Where time is left behind.”
Finally, tying into the attraction actually here at EPCOT, we see “Knowhere” from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” series. Built instead the skull of a dead Celestial, Knowhere was formerly used as the headquarters of “The Collector” Taneleer Tivan, a name very familiar to Disneyland Resort locals. Once a haven for the galaxy’s outlaws, it now plays host to the Guardians of the Galaxy themselves. The very 1980s-style art reads “The edge of the universe will take you… Knowhere”
