A new Dooney and Bourke Collection paying homage to “The Band Concert”, the very first Mickey Mouse film to be produced in color, will launch on shopDisney soon.

Three bags were teased ahead of the launch of the new collection. Each bag features an allover pattern of scenes from the animated Disney film. Mickey Mouse conducts the band, while Donald Duck, Goofy, and Clarabelle Cow are seen playing different instruments throughout the pattern. The film’s signature billing can be seen in blue and red below Mickey throughout: “Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse in The Band Concert”.

A large tote bag, satchel bag, and crossbody bag will be offered as a part of the collection, each featuring brown leather trim and golden accessories. The leather and stitching are all outlined in a bright red that matches the animated film logo.

The tote bag in particular has a leather tag with the Magic Key logo on it, which leads to the possibility that it may be exclusive to Disneyland Resort, and to Magic Key Holders at that.

“The Band Concert” is a 1935 animated short film produced in 3-strip Technicolor. While the film was the 73rd to feature Mickey Mouse, it was the first film to feature him in color. “The Band Concert” tells the story of a small concert band conducted by Mickey Mouse which struggles through a distraction-filled public performance at the park. Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Clarabelle are interrupted by Horace Horsecollar and Peter and Paddy Pig, who are also featured on the allover Dooney and Bourke pattern for “The Band Concert” collection.

While a release date has not yet been announced, the Mickey Mouse ‘The Band Concert’ Dooney & Bourke Collection is expected to launch on shopDisney soon. It has not yet been announced whether or not the collection will be available at the Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resorts, but our WDWNT team will be sure to announce the first sight of this new collection.
