More construction walls have gone up in the land formerly known as Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone at Universal Studios Florida, this time at the exit of E.T. Adventure.

There was previously a small forest of trees outside E.T. Adventure and E.T.’s Toy Closet, but most of the trees have been removed and blue walls surround the area.

There are a handful of trees visible above the construction walls. These are actually in a separate planter from the main group of trees that were removed.

A few days ago, we noticed that small planters and seating were removed nearby, opening up the walkway.

Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone as we know it ended operations on January 15, permanently closing Fievel’s Playland, the Curious George Goes to Town play area, DreamWorks Destination, and Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster. Construction walls were swiftly propped up, and while Universal has yet to make any official, concrete announcements, the inclusion of several DreamWorks Animation characters on the walls appears to suggest this revamped area focused on young children will emphasize DreamWorks stories and films.

E.T. Adventure. E.T.’s Toy Closet, SpongeBob StorePants, and Animal Actors – On Location! all remain open.

When exiting E.T. Adventure, guests walk between the remaining trees and another construction wall into E.T.’s Toy Closet.

These trees are in their own planter outside of the construction walls.

For reference, here is a look at the same area from when KidZone first closed:

The trees were clustered between E.T.’s Toy Closet and the KidZone restrooms.

The “E.T.” 30th anniversary posters in the E.T. Adventure queue were finally replaced recently.
