Daniel Delcourt to Step Down as Disneyland Paris COO, Christophe Murphy to Assume Duties

In the upcoming month, Daniel Delcourt will resign as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Disneyland Paris, and his responsibilities will be taken over by Christophe Murphy.

After Disneyland Paris’s 30th anniversary Grand Finale festivities on April 12, 2023, Delcourt will depart shortly thereafter. On April 26, 2023, Christophe Murphy, who presently serves as the Vice President of Operations at Walt Disney Attractions Japan, will take over as COO.

Daniel-Delcourt

Delcourt has been the COO at Disneyland Paris for the last eight years. He has been with the resort, on and off, for nearly the last 25 years.

Having worked in the hospitality and tourism sector for over three decades, Delcourt has amassed extensive experience in hotel management both in France and abroad. His journey at Disneyland Paris began in April 1996 as Head of the restaurants at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge, before being quickly promoted to Senior Manager of Operations at Disney Village between 1997 and 1999. He then led Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch in 1999, Golf Disneyland in 1999-2000, and Disney’s Sequoia Lodge in 2000-2002.

Between 2002 and 2007, Delcourt expanded his expertise as Head of the Entertainment Department, where he launched several shows, including for the 15th anniversary of the destination, and contributed to the opening of The Walt Disney Studios Park in 2002.

From 2007 to 2012, he served as the Vice President of Hotels and Business Solutions. Five years later, he moved to Disneyland Resort Anaheim in California to take on the role of Vice President of Hotels and Downtown Disney. In July 2014, he returned to Disneyland Paris as the Chief Operating Officer.

Christophe Murphy Disneyland Japan

Christophe Murphy has been with The Walt Disney Company for the last 32 years. Prior to his appointment as Vice President of Operations at Walt Disney Attractions Japan, Murphy has quite a history with Disneyland Paris.

According to his LinkedIn page, Murphy has held various positions at the Paris resort, including Vice President of Travel Operations, Digital & CRM, Director of Travel Operations for the Sales & Marketing Division, Director of Production & Entertainment Operations and Costuming Operations, Director of Food Park Operations, Director of Operations of Disney Village, Operations Manager at Hotel New York, and Manager of Disneyland Paris Security Operations, among other roles.

Judging by his resume, it appears that Murphy has a thorough understanding of the entire operation of Disneyland Paris.
