REVIEW: Primavera Kitchen Attempts to Escape Bad Reputation With New Menu for the 2023 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival

While it feels like we just ate at an Italy booth for a food festival, we’re back at it again for the 2023 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. As usual, the menu is completely new, and our expectations are low.

A chocolate pudding was part of the menu at L’Arte di Mangiare during the 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, but this version includes a hazelnut flavor, as well as a cookie crumble.

*NEW* Caesar con Gamberett – $7.75

Baby Gem Lettuce, Shrimp, Caesar Dressing and Crispy Bread Crumble

Believe it or not, this isn’t bad. It’s tiny, so it comes out to roughly a dollar per shrimp. It’s surprisingly refreshing, with a lot of Caesar dressing at the base.

There was nothing at the top, which made it look dry and unappetizing.

We recommend doing the “hoist method” with this, using a leaf of lettuce to scoop up some shrimp, lettuce, and bread crumble. While it’s still the best thing here, don’t waste your money on this.

*NEW* Tortelloni Primavera – $9.75

Spinach Tortelloni, Sweet Butter, Pancetta, Corn, Peas and Fava Beans

PrimervaKitchen TORTELLINI FlowerandGarden2023 1

This is very bland. It’s like eating tortellini with no sauce and mushed beans.

It smells worse than it tastes, which is basically a bag of tortellini from Costco. It’s also overpriced for what it is.

If you’re like the family from Denver that Bob Chapek kept talking about, you might like this. We don’t really like it because we know what real Italian food is supposed to taste like.

*NEW* Budino alle Nocciole – $6.75

Chocolate-Hazelnut Pudding with Cookie Crumble

PrimervaKitchen Budinoallenocciole FlowerandGarden2023 1

It’s not bad, but the quality isn’t great. It tastes like store-bought pudding.

It has both a neutral hazelnut and a cookies and cream flavor, both of which taste manufactured and artificially flavored.

Once again, it’s not worth the money.

Peroni Pilsner (5.1% ABV) – $6.50 for 6 oz., $11.00 for 12 oz.

Peroni Brewery describes their beer as “a crisp and refreshing beer with a delicate balance of bitterness, citrus and spicy aromatic notes, combined with a fast and clean finish.”

Italian White Sangria – $12.00

Usually, when a Sangria beverage of this price contains more juice than wine, we would complain. However, since the wine in this drink tasted particularly cheap and unpleasant, in this case, it was somewhat of a relief. The drink was supposed to contain Prosecco, however, this was unidentifiable from the lack of fizz in the drink.

Italian Red Sangria – $12.00

Have you ever put red wine in the microwave? That’s what this is. We thought sangria came with ice and fruit, but this was just a room temperature liquid. The flavor was fruity, so it could have been really good, but as it got hotter, it was just too warm to drink.

Italian Margarita with Limoncello and Tequila – $12.00

Tuscany Booth Festival of the Holidays 20191

The margarita was quite good as it tasted almost like a melting lemon ice dessert. However, there didn’t seem to be much liquor in the drink, as we didn’t taste much besides the faint hint of tequila. Overall, this is a tasty drink, but don’t expect to get much alcohol for your money here.

  1. RIP Josh. I think at this point the Italy seasonal food trough should just be terrible in his memory.
