The 2023 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival has begun, and there are many places to try the specialty food and beverages. At Studio Catering Co., two items have returned from last year’s event.

Korean Fried Chicken Slider – $7.99
topped with gochujang sauce, kimchi, coleslaw, and pickled onions served on sweet Hawaiian bread
This is surprisingly good for theme park food. We’re sure there’s better Korean fried chicken in Southern California, but if you’re in Disney California Adventure with a fix for gochujang sauce, this fits the bill and does it well.
The chicken is dark meat but has the right crispiness. The sauce is spicy but not overly so, and the toppings work perfectly in this sandwich.
We honestly couldn’t tell this was a Hawaiian roll with all of the other flavors going on, but that’s not to be taken as a negative.
Overall, this is a great snack.
The single slider is $7.99 or one tab from the Sip and Savor lanyard, but they wouldn’t actually sell us just one, so we had to buy a pack of two, which we were told is the standard menu item.
This actually proves to be a better value; for $11.49 (minus the Magic Key discount, if you have one) you get two sliders.
With a pack of two sliders, it’s a very shareable offering.
Watermelon Punch – $5.99
Korean-style watermelon punch with Sprite and oat milk
This one was almost right. The Sprite really brought an unpleasant characteristic to it from the saccharine, syrupy bite at the finish.
The watermelon flavor was, from what we could tell, fresh. But it was severely encumbered by the wateriness of the Sprite and the creaminess of the oat milk. Overall, this is trying to be something it’s not, and we would skip it.
The 2023 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival will be running from March 3 to April 25, 2023.
