Disney Dreamlight Valley has just teased the new update that will bring Disney Parks to the game starting April 5.

Disney originally teased the update as “a new realm opens, new characters arrive to the valley, and more surprises.” The teaser video shows one of the characters standing in front of Pixar Pal-A-Round at Disney California Adventure Park, Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride, and Pride Rock. It also features Nala and Simba from “The Lion King,” who are presumably the new characters that are being added.

Another teaser video shown above features one of the avatars standing in front of a land that has a merchandise cart with Minnie Mouse ears, a pillar from “it’s a small world,” the Mad Tea Party, Pixar Pal-A-Round, and the Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride.

The update also includes a new themed Disney Parks Star Path. The Star Path reward outfits, furniture, and motifs will feature the classic rides and parks. Star Paths have a free option, but accessing all the rewards requires Moonstones, which can be purchased using real money or collected daily from blue chests. Players can find 50 Moonstones free each day.

It will also include more items such as a “gliding mechanism,” glowing ears, new benches, and —as mentioned earlier— some fan favorite rides.

It is unclear as of right now if the avatars will be able to ride the rides or if they are just there as decoration pieces. The update will be available April 5.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is a life simulation game that allows Disney fans to live in their very own Disney world. The game originally launched in the summer of 2022 and has remained very popular ever since.

Users go on adventures and have quests in the game, starting by helping Merlin from “The Sword in the Stone” recover his memories and help Dreamlight Valley.

The main hub of the game features the Dream Castle. It leads users to different Disney realms, where they can rescue Disney characters and bring them back home to live in Dreamlight Valley. When the game officially launched, there were four realms and it included the characters such as WALL-E and Moana.

Many Disney and Pixar characters live within the valley and are known as “villagers.” The game doesn’t feature full dialogue-heavy cutscenes, but you will hear some original Disney voice actors and soundalikes, including famous voices like Bill Farmer as Goofy.

You are also able to create your own Disney home in the game.

The game is real-time, like Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The shop and restaurant are open all day and night, but some characters may only appear at specific times.

Dreamlight Valley has multiple biomes, including the main Plaza, Peaceful Meadows, Dazzle Beach, Forest of Valor, Glade of Trust, Sunlit Plateau, Frosted Heights, and the Forgotten Lands.

The main storyline takes about 40-60 hours of gameplay, but you can then continue playing the life simulator. You are able to return to realms that don’t affect the main story.

Players will be able to fish, cook meals, and craft. The free-to-play game will have in-game currency. There are, of course, a handful of opportunities to spend real money, but you can’t do this to speed up processes like growing crops.

There is a customizable avatar, with options for body type, shape, and skin color — including skin with vitiligo. Users will also be able to train animals to follow them around. Wardrobe options include tops, pants, shorts, shoes, hats, masks, glasses, jewelry, gloves, socks, and full costumes. Users will be able to wear Mickey ears and Spirit Jerseys. They will also be able to design their own clothing.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC and Mac via Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, and the App Store. It’s currently in Beta and is expected to debut later this year.
