New Spooky Disney PhotoPass Lens

DisneyPhotoPass on Twitter announced a new spooky Photo Pass Lens and sample video to show it off. Inspired by the 999 ghosts at The Haunted Mansion attraction, it looks like there’s room for one more. The Lens can be found in the My Disney Experience App.

Check out the official release below.

Calling all ghosts and ghouls:

In honor of the Disney Parks Halfway to Halloween celebration, the Haunted Mansion Disney PhotoPass Lens is available to enjoy in the My Disney Experience app, now through April 23!

Disney PhotoPass

Disney Photo Pass Lenses are part of a suite of services available within the Disney Photo Pass service. Depending on a guest’s current location, some Lenses may not be available. The My Disney Experience App uses geolocation to permit additional Lenses to users who are in specific places, such as designated areas of the parks, or within the Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney PhotoPass Lenses are available to Guests who purchase Disney Genie+ service. Annual Passholders also have access to to the Lenses through the My Disney Experience app.

Users who have one of the above two services activated on their account may access PhotoPass Lenses using the following instructions:

Step 1: Open the My Disney Experience app and select the 3-line “hamburger” icon ( ≡ ) at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Select “Disney PhotoPass Lenses” to find a special AR (augmented reality) camera, which will give users access to the Lenses. In order for the Lenses to function, users will need to allow access to the device’s camera and location.

Halfway to Halloween begins this week in Disney Parks. To celebrate, Disney has launched a new PhotoPass Lens.

In addition to the Photo Pass Lens, Disney has released a list of limited-time treats available at the Walt Disney World Resort and at Disneyland Resort. We have full guides on both them for you, of course. Check them out using the links below. Make sure you take a look at our linked food reviews within our Walt Disney World guide, while you’re there.

We expect to see dates and prices for two of Disney’s major celebrations this week, too: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Walt Disney World Resort and Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party at Disneyland Resort.

Halloween Parties at Disney Parks

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is an annual Halloween-themed event held at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. The event features special entertainment, attractions, as well as specialty food and beverages.

Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party is also a separately ticketed event that takes place at Disney California Adventure Park on select nights in September and October. Similarly to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, this bash features special entertainment, seasonal attractions, and food and beverages.

Will you be trying out the new PhotoPass Lens? We’d love to see your opinions in the comments below.
