VIDEO: Voyager Minnie Mouse Filigree Bow Medallion Revealed for Disney Treasure Cruise Ship

A new video featuring Voyager Minnie Mouse’s search for adventure has revealed the filigree bow medallion for the upcoming Disney Treasure cruise ship.

Minnie discovers a coin similar to the keel coin, which transforms into a preview of the filigree bow medallion.

Watch her adventure to find the “treasure” in the video below.

The Tweet accompanying the video reads, “Captain Minnie Mouse is at the helm of a new @DisneyCruise Line adventure as she dons her brand-new ensemble and journeys to faraway lands! Follow along as Captain Minnie discovers a stand-out design detail from the Disney Treasure and reveals it to the world for the first time.”

Though she is still officially Captain Minnie, her adventurer costume lets her become Voyager Minnie. She dons the voyager costume on the filigree bow medallion, whereas she wore her Captain Mickey outfit for the Disney Wish.

The new outfit includes a blue jacket, a red and white polka-dot ascot, a safari hat wrapped in a red and white polka-dot ribbon, khaki pants, and brown shoes.

The matching keel coin was lain in March. Keel laying is typically used to mark the official start of construction on a ship. Work had already begun on the Disney Treasure, but the laying still marks an important step in the process. In this ceremony, a newly-minted coin is placed under a ship’s keel for good fortune.

Minnie was promoted to captain in 2019 ahead of the launch of the Disney Wish last year. Her captain’s outfit has a similar color scheme to her previous Disney Cruise Line outfit, but with a captain’s hat and white pants. She was the first character other than Mickey to be featured on the medallion image on a Disney Cruise Line ship’s bow.

The adventure-themed Disney Treasure is scheduled to set sail in 2024. Its atrium will have a blue and gold color scheme. The golden statue will feature Aladdin and Jasmine riding the Magic Carpet.

With the ship’s atrium and Minnie’s new outfit, it seems Disney Treasure will be a significant departure from the theming of the other Disney Cruise Line ships. The Disney Wish was the first to have a Grand Hall instead of an atrium and is considered a “castle at sea,” but the fantastical, light theming is still relatively similar to previous Disney Cruise Line ships.

MagicBand+ technology will launch on Disney Cruise Line, beginning with a preview of select Disney Wish sailings. Disney Cruise Line did not announce an exact timeframe, but the preview will be happening this summer, during the Silver Anniversary at Sea. It will roll out to other ships sometime after the preview.

On Disney Cruise Line, MagicBand+ is called DisneyBand+ and three exclusive designs will be available. But MagicBand+ bands from Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort will also work on the ships. A DisneyBand+ purchased on one sailing can also be used on future sailings.

Key to the World cards will still be issued and required (along with a photo ID) to debark and embark at ports of call.
