Wand personalization will be available beginning April 15 with a wand engraving at either Ollivanders Wand Shop in Diagon Alley or Dervish and Banges in Hogsmeade at Universal Orlando Resort. Pricing information has not yet been made available.
Wand Engraving at Universal Orlando Resort
Guests can choose to have the engraving done on a new or an existing wand. Per our last experience with this service in Universal Studios Hollywood, if the visitor is a Passholder and wants to get the merchandise discount on the wand, they must purchase the wand and the engraving in separate transactions. If the wand is purchased alongside the engraving, the Pass Member discount will not apply to the wand. We do not have confirmation if this will still be the case at Universal Orlando Resort.
The engraving process takes about thirty minutes. It is completed on a flatter part of the wand, cutting away the paint to reveal the white plastic beneath for your selected message.

Using a Wand at Universal Orlando Resort
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is one of the most popular areas at Universal Orlando Resort. Guests can immerse themselves in the magic of Harry Potter by visiting Hogsmeade in Universal’s Islands of Adventure or Diagon Alley in Universal Studios Florida. There is also a train available to ride between the lands, themed after the Hogwarts Express, of course.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a detailed recreation of the lore presented within the Harry Potter books and movies. Guests can walk down cobbled streets, visit shops and eateries, and go on several rides and attractions inspired by the franchise.
One of the most common ways to experience The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is to use a wand within the interactive spell locations. Once you have a wand, you can cast spells at various locations to see “magical” effects. These special spots are marked throughout the lands.
There are over 20 spells that you can cast in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Some spells are simple, while others are more challenging to complete. Not all spells can be cast in all the areas, so you’ll need to explore to find them all.
