During Wednesday’s earnings call, The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger said they are “closely evaluating” for growth and expansion opportunities at Disney Parks.

Several expansions are already in the works. “Frozen”-themed lands are under construction at Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, and Walt Disney Studios Park (Paris). The Paris expansion will also include a “Tangled” ride. Avengers Campus opened at Disneyland Paris last year.

In Magic Kingdom, a new land (or lands) is in the early stages of development for beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The possible land(s) would include “Coco,” “Encanto,” and Disney Villains. Disney also announced ideas to replace Dinoland U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom with a “Moana” and “Zootopia” land. All of these lands are in the “blue sky” phase of planning, and not officially confirmed.

A “Zootopia” land is opening this year at Shanghai Disneyland.

Disneyland Resort is pitching possible expansions to Anaheim citizens as part of their DisneylandForward initiative.

Iger also referenced less literal expansion in terms of Annual Passholder benefits, including Passholders no longer needing Park Passes for certain dates in 2024.

The Walt Disney Company reported a total of $21.8 billion in revenue. Disney Parks, Experiences and Products accounts for over a third of that total, making $7.78 billion.
