A giant plush of Nick Wilde from “Zootopia” will soon be available for pre-order on shopDisney Japan.
Giant Nick Wilde Plush – ¥30,000 ($250)
The plush depicts Nick in his classic green Hawaiian shirt, blue and red striped tie, and gray pants.
He may not look big at first, but he stands at 47 inches or 120 cm tall.
Nick’s fox tail can be used to help him stand and his arms are flexible.
Pre-orders will be open on shopDisney Japan from June 30 to July 20 with an estimated delivery in December 2023.
Zootopia
Disney released “Zootopia” (also known as “Zootropolis” and “Zoomania”) in 2016. It was the 55th Walt Disney Animation Studios feature film.
“Zootopia” was directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore and co-directed by Jared Bush, produced by Clark Spencer, and written by Bush and Phil Johnston. The story was by Howard, Moore, Bush, Johnston, Jim Reardon, Josie Trinidad, and Jennifer Lee.
“Zootopia” is a buddy cop film set in a world populated by anthropomorphic animals. Ginnifer Goodwin voices Judy Hopps, a rabbit who joins the Zootopia Police Department. Jason Bateman voices Nick Wilde, a fox con artist. They’re joined by Idris Elba as Chief Bogo, Jenny Slate as Dawn Bellwether, Nate Torrence as Benjamin Clawhauser, Tommy Chong as Yax, J. K. Simmons as Mayor Lionheart, Octavia Spencer as Mrs. Otterton, Alan Tudyk as Duke Weaselton, Raymond S. Persi as Flash, Bonnie Hunt and Don Lake as Judy’s parents, and Shakira as Gazelle.
The spinoff series “Zootopia+” premiered last November.
Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed earlier this year that a “Zootopia” sequel is in the works.
Disney Parks demonstrated a new robot at SXSW meant to emulate Judy Hopps. The technology could be used at Shanghai Disney Resort’s new Zootopia land, scheduled to open this year.
In the primary attraction for this new area, guests will join the Zootopia Police Department and fight crime alongside Judy and Nick, under a vast and colossal city backdrop.
“Zootopia” is an extremely popular franchise in China, where $220 million of its $1 billion box office gross was made, meaning it is still in the top 50 highest-earning films throughout Chinese cinema history as of 2023.
