Kowakian monkey-lizards are reptilian creatures often kept as pets in the “Star Wars” universe. The first monkey-lizard to appear was in “Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.” This was Salacious B. Crumb, the pet jester of Jabba the Hutt. In “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” Hondo Ohnaka kept monkey-lizards. The species was sentient enough that at least one was a bounty hunter who turned Chewbacca over to the Empire.
If you’re looking for something more cute and cuddly, a new baby Ewok plush is available at Walt Disney World.
“Return of the Jedi” 40th Anniversary
“Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi” was released in theaters on May 24, 1983, so recently celebrated its 40th anniversary. The film was the third in the original “Star Wars” trilogy, following “A New Hope” and “The Empire Strikes Back.”
At Disney Parks, a collection of “Return of the Jedi” merchandise was released. The merch features Luke, Leia, and Han, as well as Darth Vader, Ewoks, Yoda, and Jabba the Hutt. Disney also released customizable “Return of the Jedi” items in MaDe kiosks. ShopDisney released a new Luke Skywalker lightsaber set, too.
May the 4th
Around the same time as the “Return of the Jedi” 40th anniversary, Disney celebrated May the 4th, a.k.a. Star Wars Day.
A new Cal Kestis lightsaber hilt was released on shopDisney and at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities on May 4. A new series of “Star Wars” Starbucks mugs is available. Disneyland Park released a Grogu sipper, light-up Acid Spitter sipper, and droid popcorn bucket.
The May the 4th merchandise collection included a Greedo Tiki mug, apparel, and limited edition pins. In Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Black Spire Outpost celebrated Black Spire Day with T-shirts.
