Ravensburger has announced two new Disney Villainous games in honor of the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company and the upcoming spooky season.
Disney Villainous: Introduction to Evil – Disney100 Edition – $34.99
Disney Villainous: Introduction to Evil is now available for pre-order on Target.com and will be released on July 30, 2023.
Commemorating 100 years of Disney, Disney Villainous: Introduction to Evil (Disney100 Edition) reintroduces four captivating Villains – Maleficent, Captain Hook, Ursula and Prince John – in a limited-edition version of the game that features a streamlined gameplay crafted to help first-time players.
The game comes with 4 Realms, 4 Villain Movers, 120 Villain Cards, 60 Fate Cards, 40 Tokens, 1 Cauldron, 4 Reference Cards, 4 Villain Guides, and instructions. QR codes in the rulebook lead players to how-to-play videos and individual guides to each villain. Introduction to Evil can act as its own game or players can mix and match villains from other Disney Villainous games. The box features Ursula and is Disney100-branded.
“We are celebrating 100 years of Disney animation with a commemorative edition of Disney Villainous that honors existing fans of the game while also welcoming Disney fans and others who haven’t yet had the chance to try Disney Villainous and may be less familiar with more strategy-based games to the table,” said Florian Baldenhofer, International Category Director – Games for Ravensburger. “Based on fan feedback, we were able to incorporate small tweaks to the game and strike the perfect balance for this limited-edition entry into the award-winning franchise.”
The game is for 1-4 players aged 10 and up.
Disney Villainous: Filled With Fright
This new “The Nightmare Before Christmas”-inspired edition of Disney Villainous will be available this fall.
In Disney Villainous: Filled With Fright, players take on the role of Oogie Boogie in an attempt to dethrone Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King, both iconic characters from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Disney Villainous: Filled With Fright, the first single-character expansion in the Disney Villainous line, will be available in October 2023 – just in time for Halloween.
More details about the Halloween-themed game will be available at a later time.
Ravensburger will be hosting the first-ever official Disney Villainous tournament at Gen Con Indy 2023 this August. The form for participation has closed, but Ravensburger will hold a raffle to choose entrants from those who filled out the form.
Ravensburger is also behind the highly-anticipated Disney Lorcana trading game, which will be officially released at Gen Con.
