Among the ongoing construction projects at EPCOT is the creation of a new ride share loop in the parking lot, the EPCOT logo in the center of World Celebration, and Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana” in World Nature.
EPCOT Parking Lot
This dirt lot at the edge of EPCOT parking could be a future ride share loop.
A crane and digger were recently parked on site, and other construction materials were staged throughout.
Though construction began in the parking lot months ago, there hasn’t been a lot of visible progress.
CommuniCore & World Celebration
Most EPCOT construction is in the center of the park, where CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza are under construction in World Celebration.
A new statue will also be installed in an area known as Dreamers Point, with Walt Disney resting on some steps and gazing upon the final idea he conceived and began developing before his passing. Dreamers Point will be directly behind Spaceship Earth.
When World Celebration is complete, it will serve as the primary hub for the entire park, with new nighttime lights, exhibition spaces, music venues, and room for food kiosks intended to expand festival opportunities at EPCOT and promote an ethos of community.
CommuniCore Hall will be a flexible indoor space including the new Mickey & Friends character meet-and-greet area.

We’ve seen more trees planted in World Celebration as work progresses. CommuniCore Hall and Journey of Water (part of World Nature) are both scheduled to open later this year.

Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana”
This new walkthrough attraction inspired by “Moana” is part of the World Nature neighborhood.
Construction on the attraction seems almost complete, with most vehicles and materials removed from the site.
We saw some crew members walking through the attraction during our recent visit.
Cherry-picker vehicles were at the entrance area, where there is a counter and signs. Water fountains are to the right.
