With the soft opening of Minion Land at Universal Studios Florida, guests can purchase several different sweet treats at Bake My Day, a bakery and gift shop.
Bake My Day Sweet Treats

The confectionery case is located in the back corner of Bake My Day, next to the register.

There is a Swiss roll, cookies, s’mores, cupcakes, cake pops, macarons, mini whoopie pies, and a Minion apple.

When it comes to cupcakes, cake pops, whoopie pies, and macarons, there are many different flavors. The cookies and s’mores have different designs but are all the same flavors.

Watch our full review below, and keep reading for photos and details.
Banana Cake Swiss Roll – $6

Next door, at Minion Café, you will find a tiny pineapple-flavored Minion Swiss roll, but this is different! It’s bigger and a Minion’s favorite flavor: banana. The banana cake is rolled with vanilla buttercream.

You can smell it right away and the banana scent is inviting. The cake is firm enough to hold the roll shape but still soft and fluffy to eat.

The buttercream filling isn’t too sweet and helps keep this treat from being totally bananas.

It’s a total winner. If you love it as much as we do, be sure to check out the Bake My Day merchandise and grab a matching Minion Swiss roll plush keychain.

Banana Cream Pie One-Eyed Minion Cake Pop – $10

This will haunt your soul with banana flavor. It’s completely banana. So much banana. Ba. Na. Na.

The texture of the cake pop is dense and thick. We don’t think we could eat more than a bite of this one.

If you are as obsessed with banana flavor as the Minions, then this is for you. It’s like eating banana Laffy Taffy.

Chocolate Banana Two-Eyed Minion Cake Pop – $10

This is exactly how a banana treat should be served. It’s chocolatey with a complementing banana flavor.

It’s so decadent, it’s almost like a dense fudge brownie in texture.

This was so much more a-PEEL-ing (get it?) than the banana cream pie cake pop. But wait! There’s more!
PB&J Purple Minion Cake Pop – $10

The ultimate cake pop of the three, and possibly the best dessert of the day, is the peanut butter and jelly purple Minion.

The “jelly” comes from the grape-flavored white chocolate shell around the fabulous peanut butter cake inside.

This was amazing and will be one of our new go-to treats at Universal Studios Florida.
Shark Cupcake – $8

This is another cute little treat that won’t leave you overly sugared up, but will satisfy your sweet tooth. This cupcake has no filling and is just a solid red velvet cupcake. it comes topped with a small amount of cream cheese buttercream and a white chocolate shark decoration. “Jaws” fans will enjoy this treat, too!

The shark decoration was extremely hard for us to break apart, so we ripped off a fin to try and can confirm the white chocolate is delicious. Perhaps a few minutes in the Florida sun would have helped to soften it.

We peeled off the shark to find there was a significantly smaller amount of buttercream compared to the other cupcakes. This isn’t a complaint, though.

The cream cheese buttercream was out of this world. It might have been the best cream cheese buttercream we’ve ever tasted.

This cupcake was a hit with us, mainly due to the buttercream. It’s a solid, simple cupcake. You can’t go wrong with this choice.
Bunny Cupcake – $8

The Bake My Day bunny cupcake is adorable, with tiny details of white chocolate and fondant. The cake is your simple vanilla, but it comes with a lemon pie filling.

The cake had a nice, fluffy consistency to it but the lemon filling was the real stand-out flavor. It wasn’t too tart or bitter. It was perfectly sweet and will delight fans of lemon-flavored treats.

The pink buttercream is appropriately piled high and makes this a perfectly themed treat for Bake My Day. The buttercream has a light raspberry flavor to it, so it complements the lemon rather than overpowering it.

If you’re not a big raspberry fan, don’t let that deter you from this lemony delicious dessert. For being topped by a mound of pink frosting, this isn’t offensively sweet. It’s a great balance of sweet and tart.

Purple Minion Cupcake – $8

This was the cupcake we were most looking forward to and it did not disappoint. The only complaint is that it needs more filling!

This cupcake is like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with marshmallows. The cake is your basic vanilla, but there’s amazing peanut butter and marshmallow filling.

It plays more to the peanut butter flavor, and you don’t taste marshmallows, but the creaminess of the peanut butter filling lets you know the marshmallow is definitely there. It is smooth and flavorful and will leave you wanting more.

The most interesting part of this cupcake is the “jelly” flavor in the form of grape buttercream frosting. It sounds weird, but it’s insanely good. The grape flavor packs a punch. It’s strong without being overly sugary. This allows you to truly savor the flavor without being overwhelmed by sweetness.

The grape candy buttercream, vanilla cake, and peanut butter marshmallow filling are a winning combination.

Minion Cupcake – $8

This is the most simple of the cupcake, but also the sweetest! The base is vanilla, dyed blue (ish) like Minion overalls.

The yellow frosting is piled high and is your classic vanilla. (But, we swear we tasted banana.)

This one is an extremely sugary, overly sweet cupcake that is almost too much to handle.

The buttercream is just so sugary, it’s hard to get through.

This was the only one of the four cupcakes we would never get again.
Unicorn Cookie – $6
Cookies – all the same, sugar cookie, we got unicorn because it’s cute

All the cookies are the same basic sugar cookies. The texture is soft and the icing is more decorative than sweet. This would be a great treat for someone who doesn’t want something sweet.

If your kids want a themed treat but you want them to stay away from sugar, a cookie would be a good choice. Personally, we wouldn’t get one again.
Purple Minion S’more – $8

Our reporters disagreed on the s’mores. One of us didn’t care for the s’more because it is just white chocolate and a bit bland without milk chocolate.

One of us thought it was good. But we agreed that it could use milk chocolate. Luckily, Bake My Day has plenty of options.

With so many other treats at Bake My Day, we would probably skip this next time.
Mini Whoopie Pies

A 4-piece box of mini whoopie pies is $13, or they are $4 individually.

If you like cotton candy, this whoopie pie is going to be your favorite.

The cotton candy filling is very sweet but will give you visions of freshly spun pink cotton candy. It works well with the chewy cakes, too.

This birthday cake whoopie pie was also sweet, but the cake flavor wasn’t too strong.

The sprinkles are a fun, nice addition to the treat. It didn’t wow us like the cotton candy pie, but it’s still a solid choice.

The raspberry lemon one got mixed reviews. If you’re a fan of lemon, you’ll enjoy it. The raspberry flavor is in the cake, but it’s not really noticeable.

Of the four whoopie pies, this was our least favorite.

If you like a classic, traditional chocolate and vanilla whoopie pie, this will be your favorite.

It’s like eating an Oreo cake. It came in a close second for our favorite of the four, after cotton candy.
Macarons

Macarons can be purchased individually for $3.75 each or in a 6-piece box for $20.

The cotton candy macarons (featuring a Minion with cotton candy hair or a unicorn on clouds) are not as good as the whoopie pie, but we liked them. The cotton candy flavor isn’t as strong.
The birthday cake macaron (featuring a unicorn on a cupcake) didn’t have much cake flavor. It was more like a basic vanilla macaron.
The bubblegum (featuring a Minion with bubblegum on his face) might have been our favorite macaron. It was absolutely perfect. It has a strong artificial bubblegum flavor but it’s one of our top choices.
The chocolate pretzel macaron (featuring a Minion with two lollipops) has a super salted chocolate flavor. It didn’t taste like a pretzel but was salty.

The raspberry champagne macaron didn’t have much flavor.

The passionfruit (featuring a unicorn atop a giant macaron) is another one of our top choices! This was tropical and refreshing and such a nice change in taste after so many similar treats.

The strawberry flavor stands out more than the cheesecake in the strawberry cheesecake macaron (featuring a unicorn with balloons). There is a bit of creaminess on the backend.

The Snickerdoodle (featuring just a unicorn) has way too strong a cinnamon flavor. It had the vibe of sucking on a cinnamon stick. Maybe during the holidays, this would be more appealing, but right now it’s just too overpowering.
The cookies and cream macaron (featuring a Minion blowing a bubble with a teddy bear inside) wasn’t our favorite, but it was still pretty good. It was light and chocolatey.

The bananas foster (one-eyed Minion and “Bello!”) is a little too strong for us personally, but there’s an amazing glob of caramel in the center. If you like bananas foster, this is an absolute must.

The blueberry-lemonade macaron (two-eyed Minion and “Poppaye!”) will satisfy your craving for something sweet and tart.
