During our recent visit to Universal Studios Hollywood, we got a closer look at the entrance and queue, as well as seeing Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift be tested again.

Ride Entrance and Queue

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is located in the upper lot of Universal Studios Hollywood. Part of the track is elevated above the queue, so guests can see the ride vehicles pass by.

Several Universal Team Members were standing in the queue, dressed in outfits that mimic a car mechanic’s uniform.

Green plants line the queue walkway, and there is a sign with a red arrow pointing to where the attraction entrance is.

Several orange and red barrels have also been scattered in the queue for extra theming.

The Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift ride entrance is made with a large concrete arch and the word “Entrance” decorating the top. A ride warning sign is placed on one of the concrete columns, and a height measurement stick is placed nearby. The entrance is blocked off with black barriers and several Team Members.

Underneath the wait time sign, guests are informed the ride will open “Summer 2026.” Though the ride has been added to the Universal Studios Hollywood app, an official opening date has still not been announced yet.

Looking past the entrance, we could see three orange signs denoting single rider, Universal Express Pass, and general attraction entrance queue lines.

Seat size testing and locker signs have also been installed in the queue, along with another height measurement tool. Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will hit a top speed of 72 mph – the fastest coaster at any Universal theme park – while having four inversions along a 4,100-foot-long track. This speed necessitates the use of double-sided lockers for guests to store their loose items, a first for Universal Studios Hollywood.

A decorative blue locker has been installed nearby, and dozens of car-themed stickers have been placed on it. Several of the stickers have names on them, potentially referencing people who worked on the ride.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift Ride Testing

We also got to see Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift be tested again. Since we last reported about the ride being tested, the ride vehicles have now doubled on the track, creating a test environment that would more closely mimic what the ride must handle during a busy day at Universal Studios.

 Each ride train is made up of four famous vehicles from the Fast & Furious franchise. Construction equipment and materials, including a boom lift, are still underneath the track.

We got to see one of the ride trains run along the track, making several inversions.

Along the sharp corners, the ride vehicles individually swivel into the curve.

The ride vehicles then traveled on one of the tall inversions. The walkway to the lower lot of Universal Studios Hollywood can be seen in the background.

By the end of the testing, the ride vehicles were doubled up. In this wide shot, you can see the two trains on the track, with one stopped on the bottom track and one on the upper track by the building.

Another version of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is currently under construction in Universal Studios Florida. It replaces Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, which closed in August 2025.
