Ghoulish Haunted Mansion Wallpaper Loungefly Drawstring Bucket Bag Materializes in Disneyland

After making an appearance at Walt Disney World, the latest Haunted Mansion Loungefly has arrived at Disneyland Park in California. This drawstring bucket bag pays homage to the wallpaper seen throughout this iconic manor. For anyone seeking a disquieting metamorphosis of their Loungefly styles, take a look.

We spotted this at Port Royal Curios and Curiosities in New Orleans Square.

The bag is a sack style with a black drawstring top. The outside is inspired by the attraction’s purple and black wallpaper with hidden eyes. The eyes stand out in blue and also glow in the dark. A Disney Parks and Loungefly plaque is on one side of the bag.

The bag’s strap is made of a light blue chain. It has a black pleather section intended to rest on your shoulder.

There are black panels along the top that bend in when the bag is pulled shut.

It has a flat bottom so you can easily set it down.

The interior lining is a ghostly blue. It’s striped, like the Haunted Mansion Cast Member costumes or the stretching room wallpaper, and features images of the ride’s entrance sign.

Another metal plaque is inspired by the real oval-shaped Haunted Mansion sign outside the attraction.

The Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Resort

The original version of The Haunted Mansion opened in 1969 at Disneyland as part of the New Orleans Square expansion. Two years later, it was an opening day attraction in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom. In 1983, it was an opening day attraction at Tokyo Disneyland.

Phantom Manor, a version of Haunted Mansion that has its own backstory, was an opening day attraction at Disneyland Paris (then Euro Disneyland).

At Hong Kong Disneyland, Mystic Manor is a completely different attraction that draws some inspiration from the original. It avoids references to the afterlife out of respect toward traditional Chinese cultural precedent.

‘Haunted Mansion’ 2023 Film

Disney’s new “Haunted Mansion” movie only made about $24.2 million during its opening weekend, according to The Hollywood Reporter, as “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” continue to dominate theaters.

When a mother and son move into a haunted Louisiana manor, they quickly realize just how dire the situation is, and seek the help of a ragtag assortment of people from various backgrounds — history, science, religion, etc. — to save themselves and perhaps much more. A star-studded cast is featured, with the likes of LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Jamie Lee Curits, and Jared Leto.

The last trailer unveiled before this film’s official release is available below.

Tony Chambers, executive vice president of theatrical distribution for Disney, told The New York Times, “Not having the cast available definitely had an impact, especially with ‘Barbie’ and ‘Oppenheimer’ attracting so much attention — they’re just behemoths.”

The “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” casts mostly finished their promotional tours before the SAG-AFTRA strike began, with the “Oppenheimer” cast leaving the premiere after walking the red carpet but before the film started.

Chambers is hopeful “Haunted Mansion” could still do well in the coming weeks without many other family films on the horizon.

We’ve got a relatively clear runway for the next four weeks.

Elemental 2

“Elemental” — another film from The Walt Disney Company with a fairly weak start — is close to crossing the $400 million mark in somewhat of a comeback. This places it ahead of other relative financial disappointments with better opening weekends, such as “The Flash” and “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.”

Have you seen “Haunted Mansion” in cinemas yet? Do you think this latest Loungefly bag could help you “look alive” on your next trip to the parks? Let us know in the comments.
