The heat of July might have you thinking it’s still summer at Universal Studios Florida, but we are already feeling the fall vibes over here. With Halloween Horror Nights preview merchandise available and lighting trusses starting to be placed around the park for the event, it’s safe to say more spooky things will start popping up soon.

Central Park Scare Zone

Last week, we spotted the first signs of Halloween Horror Nights with lighting trusses and curtains in the theater at the back of the park, but now we have a scare zone starting to take shape in Central Park.

These lighting trusses are wrapped in green and line both sides of Central Park. This is one of the scare zone areas for the park, but we don’t have an official announcement as to what scare zone theme we can expect to see here. You can take a look at the latest HHN 32 speculation map here if you want to see what could potentially be in this location.

More announcements will be made in the next few weeks for all of the houses, scare zones, and shows. Multi-night tickets will also be released soon, too. Central Park was the last scare zone to get decorated in 2022 but is the first one to be set up this year. Based on last year, we should start seeing props soon, which will help confirm or deny what’s on the speculation map.

About halfway through the street, we spotted a wire between 2 of the trusses. These trusses will be for adding lighting to the area and are wrapped in green to help them blend into the area. Perhaps the “jungle” rumor on the speculation map could be true.

Last year, Central Park was themed to Scarecrow: Cursed Soil and was set up like a barn and surrounding farm area. Check out our full post on last year’s scare zone here, including a video of the scare zone.

Most of the construction on the houses happens backstage and out of our sight, but we’ve spotted haunted house construction in the queue of Fast and Furious Supercharged here at Universal Studios Florida. Over at Universal Studios Hollywood, we’ve seen construction of a house facade near Mel’s Diner.

At this time, Chucky and The Last of Us are confirmed, with rumors of Stranger Things next. We’re still eagerly awaiting announcements, so be sure to stay following Universal Parks News Today for all the latest Halloween Horror Nights 2023 news!

Halloween Horror Nights 32

Halloween Horror Nights is an annual hard-ticket event held each fall at Universal Orlando Resort. It takes place on select nights between September and October (and sometimes November). This year’s event will be held from September 1 through October 31.

Admission is separate from regular theme park admission. You do not need theme park admission to attend Halloween Horror Nights, but if you have a day ticket, it allows you to stay in the park to wait rather than exit and re-enter when the event opens.

Halloween Horror Nights 32 will feature 10 haunted houses, 5 scare zones, and an unconfirmed amount of live entertainment. “The Last of Us” is only the second confirmed house, with “Chucky” having been announced last year. You can check out a fan-made speculation map of the rumored lineup.

Guests can purchase Express Passes to skip the regular queue. RIP Tours offer a guided experience, with private and non-private options available.

The event’s tagline for 2023 is “See You in the Fog,” after a common saying between veteran HHN attendees. The park is filled with copious amounts of fog each night of the event.
