Walt Disney World has updated their announcement about Muppets Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker appearing at the 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival to clarify they will only be appearing via video.
The Muppets will be experimenting with different flavors at the Brew-Wing Lab in The Odyssey Pavilion.
Disney added to their announcement about Dr. Bunsen and Beaker that they will “appear throughout the venue via videos from Muppet Labs” instead of as live puppets.
Don your lab coats and prepare to experiment with delicious flavors as Brew-Wing Lab at the Odyssey invites guests on a flavorful adventure, featuring the culinary creations – and madcap mishaps – of Muppet Labs!
That’s right – Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his faithful assistant, Beaker, who appear throughout the venue via videos from Muppet Labs, will welcome you to their taste-testing headquarters, where the inventive duo are busy creating scientific snacks and mind-blowing beverages. You’ll have a chance to sample some of their kooky concoctions like the Unnecessarily Spicy, Yet Extremely Tasty Scotch Bonnet Pepper-Curry Wings, or the Pickle Milkshake. Consider it a flavor experiment in the name of science!
The duo previously appeared at EPCOT as part of the Muppets Mobile Lab live street show.
This isn’t the only last-minute announcement for the festival: The Bacon Brothers were removed from the Eat to the Beat Concert Series lineup, and BeaverTails were removed from the Refreshment Port menu.
2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival
The 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival runs from July 27 through November 18. Full menus have been released for the Global Marketplaces. Most booths and signs have been installed for the festival.
There will be four new Global Marketplaces: Char & Chop, Wine & Wedge, Bubbles & Brine, and Swirled Showcase. These will open in the fall.
Eat to the Beat Dining Packages include a meal at a participating restaurant and guaranteed seats at an Eat to the Beat concert the same evening.
The participating restaurants are Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Biergarten Restaurant, Coral Reef Restaurant, Garden Grill Restaurant, Le Cellier Steakhouse, Spice Road Table, and Regal Eagle Smokehouse (same-day dining packages only).
Disney provided a first look at merchandise featuring Remy, Mickey & Minnie, and “Encanto” characters.
