The Haunted Mansion Dooney & Bourke collection has debuted at Walt Disney World Resort. We first found it in Uptown Jewelers on Main Street, U.S.A., at the Magic Kingdom.
The collection is complete with a wristlet wallet, a tote bag, and a domed crossbody bag.
Let’s take a closer look at each of the items individually!
Each bag in the collection features screen art on coated cotton, depicting The Haunted Mansion characters, including Hatbox Ghost, Madame Leota, the Hitchhiking Ghosts, the Singing Busts, the Gravedigger, and the Bride.
The tote is trimmed in purple leather with a zip closure, silver-toned hardware, and metal feet.
The tote’s interior is complete with three slip pockets and a key hook.
The bag is complete with an adjustable, detachable shoulder strap with snap hooks.
Taking a look inside of the domed crossbody bag we can see that it features two interior slip pockets and an interior keyhook.
Much like the tote bag, the bottom of the crossbody bag features metal feet to match the silver-toned hardware that is consistent throughout the collection.
The wristlet wallet features two individual compartments and one zip compartment that can be found within the wallet. It also includes twelve card slots.
Yesterday, we noticed that this collection was on display in several display cases around Walt Disney World. We first spotted a display at Ever After Jewelry Co. & Accessories in Disney Springs.

New ‘Haunted Mansion’ Movie
The new “Haunted Mansion” film follows a doctor, played by Rosario Dawson, and her 9-year-old son (Chase Dillon) as they move into a haunted abode in New Orleans. Dawson’s character eventually calls in a priest, who is played by Owen Wilson, to exorcise the manor. A widowed scientist-turned-failed-paranormal expert (LaKeith Stanfield), a French Quarter psychic (Tiffany Haddish), and a historian (Danny DeVito) also offer some assistance. Jared Leto is set to play the Hatbox Ghost.
Madame Leota will be played by Jamie Lee Curtis, who described the film as “modern, fresh, old-fashioned, and scary, but not scary like a monster movie. It’s scary, like a Disney ride, and funny. If you go on that ride, there’s a lot of humor as well as the scary, ghost-y stuff.” Jared Leto is set to play the Hatbox Ghost.
Curtis, Wilson, and Stanfield recently worked the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland to promote the film.
During the “Studio Showcase Day 1: Celebrate the Magic of Disney and Pixar” panel at the D23 Expo 2022 in Anaheim, Disney debuted the trailer for the upcoming movie. Justin Simien, who directed the film, spoke about the project and detailed some of the cameos audiences can expect from Winona Ryder, Dan Levy, Hasan Minhaj, and more.
Later this month, Walt Disney Studios is expected to present a behind-the-scenes look at “Haunted Mansion” during Midsummer Scream — Halloween & Horror Convention in Long Beach, California.
The Haunted Mansion
This iconic Disney attraction has a home in several Disney Parks around the world. The first iteration opened at Disneyland in 1969. Just two years later, it was an opening day attraction in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom. Then, in 1983, it became an opening day attraction at Tokyo Disneyland, too.
Disneyland Paris’ version of Haunted Mansion is named Phantom Manor. At Hong Kong Disneyland, guests can experience Mystic Manor which is an entirely different attraction that draws some inspiration from the original. However, this version avoids references to the afterlife out of respect toward traditional Chinese cultural precedent.
While traveling through the Haunted Mansion, guests encounter famous happy haunts and other ghostly characters including Madame Leota, the Bride, and the Hatbox Ghost.
The Hatbox Ghost was in the original Disneyland Haunted Mansion on opening day. Technology had not quite caught up to the ghost’s vanishing and appearing head, however, so the effect only lasted for just a few weeks before its near 50 years long disappearance.
In 2015, the effect finally returned. The Hatbox Ghost is set to soon be installed in the Magic Kingdom version of the Haunted Mansion as well.
