Additional details have been added to the Halloween Horror Nights façade near Mel’s Diner at Universal Studios Hollywood which went up in May.

Halloween Horror Nights Façade

This façade is in the seating area between Mel’s Diner and the Palace Theater, next to the Universal Plaza space. Construction walls actually went up here in March, but only a tent was visible behind them.

The façade resembles a brown, crumbling building with sections of exposed brick. Rectangular cubbies along the top are lined with yellow, blue, and red paint.

Since our last update, vines have been added to the façade.

The vines curl up around the cubbies.

A medallion with leafy decorations to the sides is below a gabled roof. The medallion is red and the leaves are green.

Signs on the construction walls read, “Pardon our stardust (while we enhance our universe)”.

There is still a tent behind the façade.

Last year, this location was home to the La Llorona house with a church-inspired motif. On the most recent Halloween Horror Nights 2023 speculation maps, this location was just marked with an owl symbol. Nothing else is known about the potential house. If it is owl-based, maybe the cubbies on the façade are for the birds to perch?

Halloween Horror Nights Dates & Details

The spookiest season of the year is a few months away, but speculation for the event has already begun, as well as construction.

Halloween Horror Nights 2023 will take place on select nights from September 7 through October 31:

• September 14, 15, 16, 17
• September 21, 22, 23, 24
• September 27, 28, 29, 30
• October 1
• October 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
• October 11, 12, 13, 14, 15
• October 18, 19, 20, 21, 22
• October 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29
• October 31

Halloween Horror Nights is a separately ticketed event. Event occurs rain or shine. No rain checks, returns or refunds. Prices, dates, times, attractions, entertainment, and/or experience details are subject to availability, changes and/or cancellation without notice. Park, attractions, entertainment or access to event may be restricted or unavailable due to capacity/closures/other factors and benefits are subject to change without notice. Parking not provided.
