Trail’s End Restaurant and Crockett’s Tavern at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground have reopened with fresh new looks and updated menus. Wednesday was a soft opening but they officially open on Thursday, July 27.
Trail’s End Restaurant
Trail’s End is part of Pioneer Hall, which also houses Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue.
Guests now enter through what were the doors to P&J’s Southern Takeout.
There are still no restrooms inside, but the Pioneer Hall restrooms are outside to the right, as indicated by a sign right inside Trail’s End.
Guests enter Trail’s End right below a light fixture made of horseshoes.
In front of them is a counter with menus available to grab.
Seating is to the right, while food is ahead where the buffet stations once resided.
At the counters to the left, guests can order breakfast meals, pizza, and hand-scooped ice cream.
A single scoop is $5.29 and a double scoop is $6.29 in a cup or waffle cone.
Shelves along the tops of the walls house retro pots and pans, ingredient boxes, baskets, and other props.
A table in the center of the space has fruits, chips, and breads.
This case has pre-packaged hot food.
During lunch/dinner, the hot food includes:
- 8 piece fried chicken – $16.99
- Bread pudding – $4.79
- 10-hour smoked pulled pork (one pound) – $14.99
- Mashed potatoes (one pound) – $7.49
- Cowboy beans – $4.99
- Chili – $4.79
- Green beans (one pound) – $7.39
- Macaroni & cheese (one pound) – $9.49
- Pecan-smoked whole chicken – $14.99
- Pecan-smoked brisket (one pound) – $19.99
- Whole rack of ribs – $21.99
Pre-packaged items are also available during breakfast before 11:30 a.m.
Next to the hot foods is a toaster and microwave.
In freezers are pre-packaged items like sandwiches, wraps, and desserts.
Guests check out at one of the registers in front of the seating area.
Cornbread loaves are available for $6.49.

After check-out, there’s a counter for drinks, coffee, utensils, and napkins.
Against the wall after the drinks counter is a shelving unit for mobile order pick-up.
Utensils hang above it and to the side is a not-so-hidden Mickey made of pans. Meanwhile, old art pieces depicting Americans taming the west have been removed and replaced with propping more reminiscent of a Cracker Barrel restaurant.
The restaurant has all new tables and chairs.
Some chairs have red plaid backs and solid red cushions.
There are also chairs without cushions that have taller backs.
The square and rectangular tables are black.
The walls are decorated with more horseshoes, cooking utensils, and other Wild West iconography.
The original entrance to Trail’s End is now a staircase to Crockett’s Tavern and an exit.
Crockett’s Tavern
Crockett’s Tavern is just on the other side of a wall from Trail’s End.
What was space for Trail’s End Restaurant was given to the bar, which previously had very limited seating. The lounge also has new tables and chairs that are similar to those in Trail’s End.
There are also high-top tables made of brown barrels.
Wagon wheels are hung on one wall, replacing a portrait of Crockett.
Taller red chairs are against the bar.
The benches have red upholstery.
The chairs have brown cushions with cowhide backs.
Crockett’s Tavern will be open in the afternoons.
It will continue to have a window outside so guests can grab drinks to go.
New exterior seating is expected to be coming soon, but it is an empty patio at the moment.
