Shimmering Sips, hosted by Corkcicle, returns to the 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival in style, with a slew of mimosas on the menu (including a brand-new berry mimosa!) and a sweet treat for dessert.

This year, the Guava dessert returns to the booth in the form of cake, instead of the mousse that was served last year.

Guava Cake with Whipped Cream and Coconut – $4.75
This is a very tart, powerful guava cake.
The guava flavor is a little bit too strong for our liking, and a little bit too sweet, but we don’t completely dislike it.
At least the cake is moist. It’s done really well, even if it’s not for everyone.
*NEW* Berry Mimosa with Berry Fizz Sparkling Wine and White Cranberry Juice – $7.00
When you order a mimosa, it’s not unreasonable to expect some effervescence. This just didn’t have enough sparkling fizz, which sort of ruins the whole experience. It’s a little bit too flat.
Though it does have the tartness of berries, there’s just not enough bubbles to keep this afloat.
Tropical Mimosa with Sparkling Wine and Minute Maid® Passion Fruit, Orange and Guava Juices – $7.00
As you can tell from the picture, this one is rather pulpy. While there are some good flavors going on, this tasted too much like a basic orange juice and champagne mimosa to be anything really special. There are better options at this booth.
Blood Orange Mimosa with Sparkling Wine and Blood Orange Juice – $7.00
Can you feel the pulp tonight… floating in your drink? There’s even more pulp than the tropical mimosa, but this one works ten times better. The blood orange flavor is prominent and not overbearing, just tart enough to smack your lips together. Definitely the smartest option at the mimosa bar.
Beer Mimosa: Boulevard Brewing Co. Berry Noir Sour Ale (4.2% ABV) and Sparkling Wine – $9.00
We were surprised when we first sipped this mimosa to have a tart taste upfront, which then changed to an herb flavor on the back end. There’s no sweetness to be found in this drink, despite being called a berry sour.
This is definitely heavier on the ale side than the sparkling wine side, but if you like a sour ale, this is perfect for you.
