Those looking to enjoy a healthy vegan dish that’s packed with spice should head over to the Refreshment Outpost during their visit to the 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. While this isn’t a new dish to be featured at the festival, there’s a reason that it keeps returning, as it’s delicious and friendly for plant-based guests!

Spicy Githeri with White Beans, Pigeon Peas, Curried BEN’S ORIGINAL Long Grain & Wild Rice and Kachumbari Slaw – $5.00
The flavor palate in this dish is similar to chili. It’s a nice-sized dish for the price, making it one of the better vegan options at the festival. The chili flavor does permeate all the vegetables, and it would be nice if they had a flavor of their own. The vegetables are limp instead of crunchy, and the dish is a bit spicy. It’s particularly cumin-heavy. While there’s nothing necessarily wrong with this dish, we’d simply rather head to Sanaa for African-inspired food, and enjoy other options for the festival.

Refreshment Outpost is located on World Showcase Promenade, just over the drawbridge from the China Pavilion. You can find it at number 14 on the map above.
