Beer-Braised Beef with Smoked Gouda Mashed Potatoes – $6.00

Previously, the beer-braised beef was found on a waffle as well. A few years ago, they decided it looked more attractive on mashed potatoes, and we agree. It’s also a lot easier to eat! The beef is ultra-tender and falls apart with a fork, and there’s plenty of gravy and mashed potatoes to help soak each other up. It’s an absolutely fantastic dish, albeit not the most photogenic. We recommend checking it out. Actually, we’re going to recommend everything here in Belgium.

Belgian Waffle with Warm Chocolate Ganache – $5.00

The chefs here are making waffles fresh to order, making the price tag immediately worth it. There are two varieties; here, we have the chocolate ganache. The chocolate is ultra-rich, and turns the waffle and whipped cream into a sweet wonderland.

Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream – $5.00

And this one is the berry compote version. There’s a much more prevalent topping on this waffle compared to the drizzle of chocolate. Both are sweet and tasty; it comes down to personal preference. At the price, you really can’t go wrong with the freshly-prepared waffles.

*NEW* Brasserie D’Achouffe Houblon Chouffe IPA, Achouffe, Belgium (9.0% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.

From Brasserie D’Achouffe: “Highly sought-after by connoisseurs, Houblon Chouffe is a strong beer – 9% alc./vol., with a bitter and fruity taste. To recreate the bitterness of IPAs, we add three types of hops to our brews: Tomahawk, Saaz and Amarillo. Houblon Chouffe is the first Belgian IPA. Taste this magnificent beer and you can appreciate its subtle grapefruit note.”

*NEW* Belgian Chilled Coffee (Non-Alcoholic) – $4.75

This tastes like chocolate milk blended with a strong coffee.

There’s not much more to it beyond that, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

It’s pretty basic, but it’s good, and not a bad option for a pick-me-up in the late afternoon or early evening.

Delirium Red Fruit Beer Belgian Ale, Melle, Belgium (8.0% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 o.z., $9.50 for 12 o.z

As a fan of beer and Delirium, we are disappointed that Delirium released this beer. Our group all agreed this was not a good option. Some said it tasted like cough medicine and others said it tasted artificial. This is something you can surely pass on.

Belgian Chilled Coffee featuring ChocoLat Deluxe Salted Caramel Chocolate Liqueur ($22/bottle) – $12.00

This basically tastes the same as the non-alcoholic version, just with a hint of liquor.

Ultimately, the Viking Coffee at the Norway Pavilion is a better boozy coffee option.
