The spooky season is on the horizon at Tokyo Disney Resort, and the Oriental Land Company has announced plans for this year’s Disney Halloween 2023 event, which takes place at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea from September 15 to October 31.
Entertainment & Attractions
Disney Halloween 2023 will see the return of the Spooky “Boo!” Parade, where ghosts invite Mickey Mouse, his Disney friends, and guests into their world.
New for this year, however, will be the ability for guests to purchase Disney Premier Access for the parade, where they can view it from designated viewing areas. More details will be announced at a later date. This year will also mark the return of the parade’s dancers, as well as two show stops along the parade route.
The Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare will also return this year, and will welcome guests starting September 14 through January 8. 2024.
At Tokyo DisneySea, guests can enjoy a Halloween greeting featuring Mickey Mouse and friends dressed in their pumpkin and candy costumes at the Mediterranean Harbor. The greeting will last for about 15 minutes, and happen twice a day. Other than this, the Tokyo Disney Resort website has a “coming soon” display by entertainment, so it is possible that more offerings or details will be coming later.
Trick or Treating Returns
At Tokyo DisneySea, if you see a Cast Member wearing a special costume for the Halloween event, all you have to do is say “Trick or treat!” and you can get some candy.
Costumes
This year, guests will be able to dress up as their favorite Disney characters and enjoy the Halloween festivities. Guests will be able to enter both parks in full Disney costume every day during the “Disney Halloween 2023” event. You can read the full costume rules for this year here.
Merchandise
Three new merchandise collections will be available during Disney Halloween 2023. You can learn more about them and see the items for yourself here.
Food
Special Halloween-themed food and beverage options will be available at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea for Disney Halloween 2023.
There will also be spooky treats available at select locations in both parks. You can check out the menus for Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea at the links as they are updated.
The Disney hotels will also be offering a special Halloween menu that will bring the atmosphere of Disney Halloween to life.
Decorations
Halloween decorations will be set up throughout both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.
At Tokyo Disneyland, the park’s entrance will have banners and garlands for Halloween, and a giant Mickey pumpkin will be on display in the middle of World Bazaar.
There will also be a Halloween display behind Cinderella Castle that includes many Jack-O’Lanterns and a ghostly band.
Over at Tokyo DisneySea, the park will be lively during the day, and mysterious at night. The American Waterfront will be the main attraction for Halloween fun, but other Halloween-themed decorations will be present throughout the park.
Disney Resort Line
Three special tickets for the Disney Resort Line monorail will be available during the event, with each one themed to the merchandise collections on sale during the event. There will also be souvenir medals with “Disney Halloween” designs for sale.
