The Disneyland Monorail closed for refurbishment today, and a reopening date has been announced.

The refurbishment will end on August 31, 2023. The Monorail will be out of service for just under two months.

More a relaxing spot away from the crowds than actual transportation, the Disneyland Monorail was the first daily-operating monorail system in the Western Hemisphere when it opened in 1959. Guests can ride the rails from the Downtown Disney District and the nearby Disneyland Hotel on a grand tour of the resort including a quick ride past Disney California Adventure and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
