Today, August 29, Genie+ at Walt Disney World hit its lowest price point since introducing park-specific pricing in June 2023, likely as a result of Hurricane Idalia.
Disney Genie+ Prices Drop Ahead of Hurricane
When Genie+ was first launched, the service was offered at a flat rate of $15 per person, per day. When the service switched to date-based pricing in 2022, guests saw a new high price of $22.
After park-specific variable pricing was introduced, guests could expect to spend anywhere from $16-$35, depending on the park they wanted to visit.
Today, however, one park saw its lowest Genie+ pricing since the latest change went into effect.
This morning, Genie+ prices went live for the day, and the service for Disney’s Animal Kingdom was available for just $15.
Pricing across all other options is also quite low, ranging between $15 and 20 for single-park visits or multiple parks.
With Hurricane Idalia expected to make landfall Wednesday morning, August 30, it looks as though Walt Disney World anticipates low crowds over the next few days.
At this time, Walt Disney World is still operating normally, though guests at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground have been asked to take some steps for preparation, and 50% discounts are being offered on hotel stays for Florida residents and first responders assisting in storm-related recovery efforts.
