To celebrate Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month, which begins on September 15, Walt Disney World has announced that two familiar faces from the animated film “Encanto,” Mirabel and Bruno, will be making appearances at Magic Kingdom.
Mirabel Meet & Greet
After a March announcement and permit filing in June, followed by ongoing retheming of the Fairytale Garden area, Walt Disney World has announced an opening date for the long awaited meet and greet at Magic Kingdom.
Guests will be able to meet the heroine in her magical Casita Madrigal starting September 15 at Magic Kingdom. This character greeting will be available year-round after Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month, so don’t worry if you can’t make it to the park in September.
This new meet and greet experience replaces the former Merida meet and greet in the Fairytale Garden, where it was located for several years. Prior to Merida calling it home, guests could meet Rapunzel and Flynn Rider there. Now, guests can meet Merida at the Enchanted Glade Gazebo in Liberty Square.
We got to meet Mirabel in Frontierland at Disneyland in California. Watch the full experience in the video above.
Bruno Joining Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade
We will talk about him — Bruno will be joining the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade, also at Magic Kingdom starting September 15. This cavalcade was first introduced last year as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World. You can watch the cavalcade in full in the video below.
A casting call for Bruno look-alike performers was originally put out for Walt Disney World back in June, and now we know why.
Bruno was one of the new characters at Oogie Boogie Bash in Disney California Adventure last year. See a video of his meet and greet below.
