Vanellope Meet and Greet at EPCOT Closing Permanently Today to Make Way for Figment

Today, August 19, is the last day to meet Vanellope von Schweetz from “Wreck-It Ralph” at ImageWorks. The Vanellope meet and greet will be closing permanently, and EPCOT Cast Members say a construction wall will be up in the area tomorrow.

Originally, Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope shared the meet and greet when it opened in 2019.

When characters returned to the Imagination! Pavilion for physically distanced “character sightings,” Ralph was absent, and Vanellope has met by herself ever since.

The meet and greet’s closure is likely to make way for the upcoming Figment meet and greet and/or the Disney100 Mickey, and Minnie meet and greet. The latter two will begin meeting in the pavilion on September 22, while the Figment meet and greet was simply promised for late this summer. Disney didn’t officially state Figment would be meeting at the Imagination! Pavilion, but considering it’s home to Journey Into Imagination with Figment, the location makes the most sense.

Joy from “Inside Out” also currently meets at the Imagination! Pavilion. She, too, may soon be leaving to make way for the two new meet and greets.

A permanent Mickey & Friends meet and greet location is coming to EPCOT with the eventual opening of CommuniCore Hall, but Mickey and Minnie appearing at the Imagination! Pavilion implies the permanent location won’t be ready by September. Mickey and Minnie will be appearing in their platinum 100 Years of Wonder outfits at Walt Disney World for the first time.
