The DINOSAUR attraction in DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will transform into a new adventure, starring Indiana Jones.
Indiana Jones Being Considered to Replace DINOSAUR
Announced this morning during the “A Celebration of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” panel at Destination D23, it was revealed that an Indiana Jones experience is being considered as part of a new land theme.
If it moves forward, the proposed attraction reimagining will join the re-themed “tropical Americas” area alongside new experiences inspired by “Encanto.”
At Tokyo DisneySea, Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull is set in Central America; we could see this adventure make its way to Disney’s Animal Kingdom as well. The DINOSAUR attraction currently at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is also built on the same track layout as Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland.
Chief Creative Officer at Walt Disney Imagineering Bruce Vaughn said that this land update project has a long way to go, but that Imagineering teams in Florida are up to the challenge.
Here’s a closer look at the concept art for the proposed new land theme. You can see what would be the rethemed attraction on the top right.
What do you think of this potential re-theme for DINOSAUR? Or would you prefer that the dinos and Dr. Seeker stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
