CONCEPT ART: Storyliving by Disney Reveals Details About Parks, Cotino Bay, and Town Center of New Residential Community

Storyliving by Disney has shared more concept art and details about Cotino, their first community, coming soon to Coachella Valley in California. The first “chapter” of the community will have more than 300 homes, one-third of which will be for adults 55 and up.

“We’re thoughtfully and intentionally bringing elements to the community to encourage camaraderie among neighbors while also using our renowned Disney placemaking to weave the essence and beauty of the Coachella Valley into the fabric of the community,” said Claire Bilby, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Signature Experiences Emerging Businesses. “Alongside the developer and builders, we’re creating a special place where residents will have a distinctive lifestyle that can only be found in the Cotino community.”

Cotino will offer three different single-family home collections. The Cottage Collection will be on home sites approximately 50 feet wide. The Grand Collection will be on home sites approximately 60 and 70 feet wide. Lastly, the Estate Collection will be on home sites approximately 90, 120, and 135 feet wide. All will be detached, single-family dwellings.

Homes dedicated to residents 55+ will be around Longtable Park. The name is inspired by Walt Disney, who would join his neighbors for a group breakfast around a table during his visits to Coachella Valley. Disney hopes the park will “foster friendship among neighbors” thanks to an actual long table. It will also have barbecue grills and shaded seating.

The layout of Cotino will “promote connectivity” with promenades that look over Cotino Bay, which will have clear turquoise waters thanks to Crystal Lagoons technology.

We’ve already learned about the “Incredibles 2”-inspired clubhouse, which guests can access with a voluntary membership to the Artisan Club. This will also offer access to exclusive beach areas and recreational water activities. Guests can also visit Cotino Bay Beach to access the water with the purchase of admission.

Along the shores of Cotino Bay will be a town center with shopping and dining.

The first phase of residential development will be on the northwest corner of Cotino, bordering Gerald Ford Drive and Bob Hope Drive in Rancho Mirage.

Pre-sales appointments are expected to begin later this year before the launch of home sales.
