Bring the breathtaking views and unique aura of Disney’s Animal Kingdom into your home in the form of a new merchandise line that recently debuted at the park. The vibrant collection includes a mug, throw blanket, and pillow and is available at Garden Gate Gifts near the park’s entrance.
New Disney’s Animal Kingdom Merchandise
All of the merchandise features the same style of art, with the throw and pillow, in particular, containing identical imagery.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Mug – $19.99
The ceramic mug is primarily white and features a thick yellow band around its base. The Disney’s Animal Kingdom logo is raised on one side and appears in a dark brown hue.
Multi-colored shapes appear on the yellow band; some emulate rocks while others join together to form animal paws.
The other side features stylized plant and animal illustrations that form together to create a Mickey head. The Mickey head shape is raised against the rest of the mug.
The Tree of Life serves as the center of the art, much like it serves as the visual and physical centerpiece of Disney’s Animal Kingdom itself. The 145-foot sculpture contains hundreds of intricate animal carvings and has been at Disney’s Animal Kingdom since its 1998 opening, serving as the park’s icon.
Leaves, planets, and animals surround the Tree of Life on the mug, the list of depicted animals including an elephant (sorry, we don’t think it’s Little Red), tiger, warthog, snake, and lizard, among others.
A brown ring peeks over the rim of the mug, leading to its solid brown interior.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Throw Blanket – $49.99
The throw is 60 inches by 42 inches, or 5 feet by 3.5 feet. It contains several vivid colors and is full of animal and park-specific imagery.
The Tree of Life again appears on the throw, joined by an orange-and-pink depiction of the Forbidden Mountain that houses the Expedition Everest attraction. Opening in 2006 as the, to that point, largest addition ever made to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Expedition Everest sends guests on a high-speed journey through the Himalayan Mountains and leads them to a face-to-face encounter with the Yeti.
A traditional African design serves as the throw’s border, and it’s interrupted, in spots, by vibrantly-colored plant imagery. Vivid depictions of animals make up the center of the throw, and the Disney’s Animal Kingdom logo appears in the center at the bottom of the art.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Pillow – $39.99
The pillow features the same art as the throw blanket. The same traditional African border surrounds the same vibrant art, and the same animal imagery and park references are present.
The only real differences come on the corners and in the placement of the Disney’s Animal Kingdom logo. Multi-colored tassels are included on the corners of the pillow while the Disney’s Animal Kingdom logo shifts to the bottom corner, stitched atop the orange elephant.
The back of the pillow is green and contains no artwork or park imagery.
