Disney’s Animal Kingdom will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Earth Day, April 22, 2023. Special merchandise, food and beverage offerings, and more will be available in the park to celebrate.
Animal Kingdom 25th Anniversary Merchandise
The Disney’s Animal Kingdom 25th anniversary collection will be available for a limited time starting April 21 at Island Mercantile, Discovery Trading Company, and Mombasa Marketplace.
The collection includes a Spirit Jersey, tumbler, pocket tee, and button-ups. A limited edition Earth Month pin is also available now at retail locations throughout the park.
All of the merchandise features the Disney’s Animal Kingdom logo and the “25,” logo, which looks like it’s comprised of tree branches. Of course, they also feature animals like elephants, and maybe a few hidden Mickeys.
The teal Spirit Jersey features Kevin from “Up” and reads “More adventure is out there!” We recently found a “Big Feet” Kevin plush at Walt Disney World, too.
A bucket hat and Loungefly mini backpack are also coming soon.
The mini backpack is made of brown pleather, with the 25th anniversary logo debossed on a flap and faux buckles on the front pocket. It’s patterned with images of animals in tree bark, reminiscent of the Tree of Life.
Animal Kingdom Commemorative Menu Offerings
Disney has already announced some special Earth Day treats, and we’ve already reviewed the Bee Hive Mousse Dome, Golden Elephant Cupcake, and Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail Sundae. But more treats will be available exclusively on April 22.
The Colossal Elephant Roll (above) will debut exclusively on April 22 at locations throughout Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as will the 25th Anniversary Alive with Magic Cupcake (below).
A 25th Anniversary Dessert Platter will be available at Tiffins Restaurant and a 25th Anniversary Earth Tart will be at Tusker House Restaurant.
Animal Kingdom 25th Anniversary PhotoPass Opportunities
Disney PhotoPass Service will offer Earth Month and 25th anniversary photo ops beginning April 16. These include sepcial props, Magic Shots, and more.
The 25th anniversary sign prop is made out of recycled materials, including upcycled sign backers, Cast Member costumes, and patches.
The Animation Experience & Wilderness Explorers
During the month of April, guests visiting The Animation Experience at Conservation Station can learn to draw characters like Dumbo, Terk from “Tarzan,” Crush or Bruce from “Finding Nemo,” Tigger from “Winnie the Pooh” or Simba from “The Lion King.”
From April 16 to April 23, Wilderness Explorers have the opportunity to earn a special badge by completing a limited-time nature challenge.
