REVIEW: Snoopy Backlot Café Serves Up a Fright With Halloween Tomato-Cream Spaghetti Set in Universal Studios Japan

You can celebrate spooky season in (potentially) delicious fashion at Universal Studios Japan, as Snoopy’s Backlot CafĂ© is serving up a Halloween Tomato-Cream Spaghetti Set for the park’s take on Halloween Horror Nights and general festive celebrations.

Snoopy’s Backlot CafĂ© is a quick-service restaurant located in the Universal Wonderland section of Universal Studios Japan.

This meal comes with a bowl of spaghetti, meatballs, and mushrooms in a tomato-cream sauce. It’s served with a side of french fries, and all the food comes in adorable “Peanuts”-inspired packaging, as one would expect at Snoopy’s Backlot CafĂ©.

The festive moon-shaped chip topping the dish is a tortilla, which is as out of place in the spaghetti as it sounds. It’s crunchy, adding an unwelcome note to the texture profile. The tomato-cream sauce was a bit thin, and the pasta itself was just alright.

We thought it tasted similar to the spaghetti and meatball dish available at Denny’s, which isn’t a ringing endorsement. The fries may be better when you order them, but our order was not fresh and, thus, quite soggy.

Its cute aesthetic aside, we don’t recommend the Halloween Tomato-Cream Spaghetti Set.
