Collectors have the opportunity to fight the good fight (if you ignore the canonical timeline) by purchasing the upcoming LEGO Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser. The massive Star Wars set will be released exclusively at LEGO Stores (like the ones at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort and the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort) and on LEGO.com, according to the official Star Wars website, with early access starting on October 1. The set will be available for $649.99.

The set contains 5,374 pieces and, according to the official LEGO website, is for collectors 18 years of age or older. The completed display is 13 inches tall, 22 inches wide, and 43 inches in diameter and contains two stands that allow it to sit on your desk, shelf, or wherever you care to display it. There are two minifigures, Captain Rex and Admiral Wulff Yularen, who are significant characters from the “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” animated series that aired (intermittently) from 2008 – 2020.
The Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser is a part of LEGO’s Ultimate Collector Series; a smaller version of the ship was released in 2009.
The completed set is gray with red detailing and signage, an indication that this is a Republic vessel. The docking bay is open on the ship’s side, with small depictions of guns and other decor rounding out the intricate detailing in the middle.
The ship’s eight ion engines are visible on the back, with the light blue pieces that cap the openings suggesting that the vessel is preparing to jump into hyperspace.
The Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser was a combat ship used by the Republic during the Clone Wars. It made its first appearance (in this form) in “Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith” and was often seen in the “Star Wars: The Clones Wars” series. The Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser, in many ways, was the precursor to the Star Destroyer ship well known by devoted and casual Star Wars fans alike; in canon, Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruisers were striped of Republic-era branding after the formation of the Empire, with the vessels long serving as an important part of the Imperial fleet.
More Star Wars LEGO Sets
LEGO often releases sets depicting characters and imagery from “Star Wars,” with one of its more recent sets even occupying the same part of the series’ canonical timeline as the Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser. The Coruscant Guard Gunship LEGO set was released on September 1; the Coruscant Guard was depicted throughout the “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” series.
LEGO also released a new “Ahsoka”-centric set on September 1. That set contains Ahsoka’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle and mini-figures depicting Ahsoka, Sabine Wren, Huyang, and Marrok. It was released shortly after the premiere of the “Ahsoka” Disney+ series.
Even more “Star Wars” LEGO sets will be released in 2024, with a number of the planned sets being leaked in late August.
