New signs for the previously opened Figment meet and greet and the upcoming Mickey meet and greet have been installed outside the Imagination! Pavilion in EPCOT.
Meet Mickey & Figment Signs
The signs are at the bottom of the ramp that leads to the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival. They are both circular, on the same yellow pole but with arrows pointing in different directions.
The “Meet Figment” sign, featuring an image of the dragon, points towards ImageWorks. The Figment meet and greet opened earlier this month. He appears in ImageWorks from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and then 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The other sign features Mickey in his Disney100 outfit and points towards the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival theater. Mickey currently meets in the theater’s lobby, wearing a standard suit, but he and Minnie are set to start meeting in their platinum Disney100 outfits tomorrow, September 22.
That said, the sign only says “Meet Mickey Mouse” and does not mention Minnie, raising questions about whether or not she will be appearing.
Mickey Meet & Greet
Inside the theater’s lobby, we did notice a new addition to the Mickey meet and greet space. The purple and platinum art deco Disney100 logo is now on the floor.
This version of the Mickey-shaped logo does not actually say “Disney100” or “100 Years of Wonder” on it.
This is the only change. The meet and greet was already surrounded by different images of Mickey (and Minnie) from over the years.
Cast Members were not able to confirm if Minnie would join Mickey or not. Minnie has been meeting guests at the main entrance of EPCOT in her red and white polka-dot dress.
However, we did see the couple meeting together at International Gateway today. Daisy Duck usually appears in this spot.
More Disney100 at EPCOT
In addition to the Mickey and Minnie meet and greet, EPCOT is debuting other Disney100 offerings. A new platinum Mickey Mouse sculpture will be installed in front of the giant 100 in World Celebration. The Mickey statue is the same as the one at Disneyland — including the correct quote.
A new mural also in World Celebration will feature 100 Disney characters in the neighborhoods of EPCOT. It will be located along the walkway to World Showcase. The rest of World Celebration will also be decked out with Disney100 platinum banners and other décor.
At night, Spaceship Earth will light up with a special Disney100 spectacle of light featuring a special rendition of “When You Wish Upon a Star.”
The purple metallic Mickey Balloon Premium Popcorn Bucket will be available and new Global Marketplaces will open as part of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.
These offerings are all set to debut on September 22. A new nighttime spectacular, “Luminous: The Symphony of Us,” is scheduled to premiere on December 5. The show was reportedly delayed due to the soundtrack.
