After being blocked off with black curtains, the beaver-themed cash wrap has been removed from Island Mercantile at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The removal is part of an ongoing refurbishment of the shop, which also involved the removal of the elephant and camel cash wraps.

A merchandise display has been placed where the beaver registers used to be.

It’s clear by looking at the floor where the cash wrap was. This is also directly in front of a backstage door and a series of beaver reliefs on the wall.

The floor where the cash wrap was is significantly lighter than the rest of the floor, which we also noticed upon the removal of the camel cash wrap.

The back wall still has columns resembling logs with beavers hanging off them, below the reliefs.

The three cash wraps that have been removed were in the center of rooms, while a new bee and owl-themed counter has been installed against a wall.

Here is what the beaver cash wrap looked like a few weeks ago. It seems Disney decided this style of cash wraps was less convenient than the ones against the walls.

We don’t know if this marks the end of the Island Mercantile refurbishment. The floors may be fixed up and more cash registers may be installed.
