The all-new The Purge: Dangerous Waters show debuted at Universal Studios Hollywood on September 7 as the park’s annual Halloween Horror Nights event commenced.

The show is themed to “The Purge” film franchise and inhabits the theater where the Waterworld: A Live Sea War Spectacular typically takes place. You can watch a full video of the brand-new show on the Universal Parks News Today YouTube channel:

The show features choreographed fights, heart-wrenching stunts, jet skis, and more. We thought the show was incredible, but you can watch it for yourself above.

The Purge: Dangerous Waters is based on “The Purge” franchise, a series of films (and a USA Network television series) distributed by Universal that toe the line between horror and action. The films and series take place in a dystopian version of the United States where all crime is legal for one day each year.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood

Halloween Horror Nights runs at Universal Studios Hollywood on select nights from September 7 through October 31, 2023. Eight haunted houses are offered at this year’s event, including Evil Dead Rise, Monstruous: The Monsters of Latin America, The Last of Us, Stranger Things 4, Holidayz in Hell, The Exorcist: Believer, Universal Monsters: Unmasked, and Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count.

Rounding out the list of terrifying experiences are the scare zones (El Terror de las Momias, Ghostz, and Toyz) and several live entertainment options (Blumhouse: Behind the Screams and the aforementioned The Purge: Dangerous Waters). The Terror Tram is also returning this year in the form of Terror Tram… The Exterminatorz, a frightening ride that may bug a few.
