The first names have been installed on the commemorative display celebrating Castaway Club members who have embarked on 50 or more Disney Cruise Line voyages. The display is located on Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, and was first announced in mid-August.
Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club Display
Disney Cruise Line shared an image of the new display on their official X account on the morning of October 20.
The display is located near the Castaway Cay post office.
According to the official Disney Cruise Line website, guests will receive an e-mail invitation to have their family’s surname displayed at Castaway Cay within 90 days of completing 50 eligible sailings. If interested, guests can fill out and return the personalization form by a deadline provided by Disney. Disney Cruise Line will then verify the information before informing guests of when they can expect to be added to the display.
The specific signs are limited to 20 characters, including hyphens. The surname chosen to appear on the sign must match the one that appears in the Castaway Club records. Disney Cruise Line expects to update the Castaway Cay display each quarter, or once “a minimum of [five] family names have been submitted and selected.” If a guest does not submit their personalization form by the deadline provided by Disney, their request will be considered for a future installation, subject to availability.
The Castaway Club is Disney Cruise Line’s loyalty program that offers rewards to frequent sailors. Guests join as Silver Members after completing one sailing; perks in this tier include the ability to book new itineraries at least one day before the general public, the ability to add cruise activities 90 days before sailing, and a welcome back aboard gift, among others. Sailors can become Gold Members after five sailings and Platinum Members after 10 sailings, with the number of perks increasing as the membership tier hierarchy progresses.
Guests can become Pearl Members after completing 25 voyages. This tier includes all of the perks that Silver, Gold, and Platinum members enjoy while also allowing a four-day head start on booking new itineraries, the ability to add cruise activities 123 days out, the ability to check in 40 days before sailing, and a complimentary unlimited digital photo package. The Castaway Cay commemorative display opportunity is only available for Pearl Members who have completed 50 or more sailings.
Disney Cruise Line
Disney Cruise Line started offering cruises in 1998 with the maiden voyage of the Disney Magic. The line has since grown to include five ships and will launch a sixth next year with the Disney Treasure, an adventure-themed ship that will be the same size and have the same layout as the Disney Wish, which launched in 2022. The Disney Treasure will embark on its maiden voyage on December 21, 2024.
The Disney Adventure, the line’s seventh vessel, is expected to join the fleet at some point in 2025. The ship is expected to sail from Singapore and throughout Southeast Asia.
