Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Confirmed to Close for Refurbishment When Blizzard Beach Reopens

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon will close for the season on November 6, 2023, to undergo its annual multi-month refurbishment. Its closure coincides with the November 6 reopening of Blizzard Beach, which was announced on the morning of October 20.

The official Walt Disney World website does not list any hours of operation for Typhoon Lagoon past Sunday, November 5, 2023 (the park’s hours for that day are 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.). The resort has added another day of operations to the calendar, as park hours for Typhoon Lagoon previously halted after November 4. The addition of another day ensures that Walt Disney World Resort will have a seamless transition from one water park to the other, as Blizzard Beach will reopen following its multi-month refurbishment on the same day that Typhoon Lagoon closes.

Typhoon Lagoon is one of two water parks at Walt Disney World Resort and, as of recent years, operates on an alternating schedule with Blizzard Beach. It reopened from its most recent refurbishment in March 2023 after closing in November of last year. It initially opened in 1989, and some of its more popular offerings include the Crush ‘n’ Gusher roller-coaster-like raft ride, the Humunga Kowabunga water slide, and Miss Adventure Falls, an attraction that opened in 2017 and contains references to the Disney Society of Explorers and Adventurers.
