Blizzard Beach is one of two water parks located at Walt Disney World Resort, the other being Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. The two have operated on alternating schedules in recent years, with each closing for several months each year to undergo maintenance work. The most recent closure of Blizzard Beach commenced in March 2023, its closure for maintenance coinciding with the reopening of Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon.

The official Walt Disney World Resort website does not list any operating hours for Typhoon Lagoon past November 5, 2023, indicating that November 5 is the water park’s last day of operations for the season. At time of press, the website still does not list any operating hours for Blizzard Beach through the rest of 2023, but specific hours of operation will likely be added soon.

Disney Parks Blog highlighted some of the new additions coming to Blizzard Beach in their post, the first being the new Disney Water Park seasonal pass. The passes allow access to whichever water park is open at the time without a reservation. They are valid through May 24, 2024, have no blockout dates, and cost $79.

New specialty churro dishes will also be added to the menu at Arctic Expeditions. The S’mores Churros are “churro bites topped with graham cracker crumbs, marshmallow whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and toasted mini marshmallows,” while the Banana Split Churros are “churro bites topped with banana slices, sliced strawberries, pineapple chunks, cookie and brownie pieces, chocolate and caramel sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry.” Honey Sriracha and Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings will also be introduced at Warming Hut.

The Disney Parks Blog also noted that peppermint milkshakes will be available at Blizzard Beach throughout the holiday season.

Blizzard Beach first opened on April 1, 1995. New “Frozen” theming was added to the park upon its reopening last year, with Tike’s Peak receiving a “Frozen”-inspired update.
