Get a jumpstart on your Life Day Christmas shopping by checking out the new “Star Wars” holiday collection that recently flew into Walt Disney World Resort. The new merchandise line depicts iconic “Star Wars” characters as children and even features a festive droid figure; we spotted it at World of Disney at Disney Springs.

New ‘Star Wars’ Christmas Collection

Five items from the new “Star Wars” holiday line are currently lighting the shelves at World of Disney. Select shirts from the collection are also available on shopDisney.

‘Star Wars’ Holiday Sweater for Adults – $59.99

All of the clothing in this line contains artwork from “Star Wars: A Vader Family Sithmas,” a 2021 children’s book by Jeffrey Brown. The artwork is comic-like and depicts “Star Wars” characters like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Lando Calrissian as children. The art style is reminiscent of classic comic strips, and that’s referenced on this adult crewneck sweater, as it’s covered in comedic panels that feature “Star Wars” references, jokes, and puns.

Some of the comic strips are independent while others reference each other. One panel, for example, features Han giving Chewbacca a hairbrush as a Christmas gift, while another sees Luke and Leia disclosing that they purchased Chewie the same present. Another panel puts a holiday spin on the ending of “Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi,” as Luke attempts to redeem his Darth Vader by telling him that he knows that there is good in him. Darth Vader tells his son that it’s “too late” for him, as he’s on the naughty list.

The art primarily references moments and quotes from the original “Star Wars” trilogy, though there is a reference to “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” on a panel that features Han and Lando. There are also comic strips printed on each sleeve of this white sweater; one features Luke giving Leia a gift, and the other sees Yoda making an apt joke about his Christmas tree’s size.

‘Star Wars’ Holiday Long-Sleeved Shirt – $44.99

This green long-sleeved shirt for adults features the uniting of several “Star Wars” characters for a holiday celebration. Luke and Leia appear as children in front of Darth Vader, a (spoilers) heartwarming familial reunion for the holidays. Luke uses the Force to give his sister a gift as Leia repeats her “I’ve got a warm feeling about this” joke from the sleeve of the crewneck sweater.

Other “Star Wars” characters and wrapped presents fill the foreground. Lando is seen exchanging gifts with Lobot (his aide and confidant) while Han gifts Chewbacca what appears to be a lightsaber (it’s Christmas, let’s set canon aside). A Death Star tree topper weighs down a Christmas tree in the back while R2-D2 gifts C-3PO with a new golden leg, a reference to the droid’s usual nonuniform silver lower leg.

‘Star Wars’ Holiday Youth Cardigan – $49.99

Darth Vader has taken his children sledding on this red youth cardigan. He pulls Luke and Leia through a colorful snow-covered forest; the children appear to be having a wonderful time, while Vader himself looks agitated, even through his menacing helmet. The four buttons that connect either side of the cardigan look akin to Starlight peppermint candies, a popular Christmas treat.

The back of the sweater is just red and features no additional imagery. This cardigan is available on shopDisney.

‘Star Wars’ Holiday Youth Shirt – $26.99

This youth shirt is white and features the same Luke, Leia, and Darth Vader art from the long-sleeved adult shirt. The Death Star-topped tree appears in the background, and it’s surrounded by wrapped gifts. “Merry Sithmas” is written above the art in black and red font, a “Star Wars” pun that references the Sith, or those who use the dark side of the force.

The back of the shirt references the iconic “Star Wars” crawl and perhaps reveals the title of the concluding film of the next trilogy (jokes). “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…” is written across the top of the back in a font that looks akin to children’s handwriting; “Episode Twelve DAYS OF SITHMAS” is written beneath that, with the crawl teasing a tale of Luke and Leia attempting to restore the holiday spirit in their father.

R8-H23 Figure – $14.99

R8-H23 is the latest holiday droid to join the Droid Factory line. The astromech droid is red and features white and green detailing. If the festive colorway wasn’t enough, a large green wreath around his body adds another layer of holiday cheer.

The back of the blue cardboard packaging contains a labeled image of the droid. Festive droids have been released as part of the Droid Factory line in the past, with a Halloween-themed Frankenstein’s Monster-inspired droid most recently debuting at Walt Disney World in July.
