UPDATE: Disneyland Resort Officials Say ‘No Announcement Made’ Regarding Location of Future Avatar Experience

After an announcement made this morning, it appears that the Avatar experience coming to Disneyland Resort isn’t quite ready to make a grand reveal. According to Disneyland officials, the information shared earlier was not correct.

Disneyland Official Shares Update on Avatar Announcement

Per Scott Gustin on X, “a Disneyland official reached out […] to say there was no announcement made” regarding the location of the Avatar experience, despite what might have been said at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo today during the Imagineering Lunch & Learn Panel.

It’s unclear exactly what was said during the panel — or if someone misspoke or someone misheard.

At IAAPA, Disney announced earlier today that the “Avatar” experience coming to Disneyland Resort will be at Disney California Adventure, though now that news has been walked back.

announcement rescinded by Walt Disney Imagineering about Avatar Experience at Disneyland

The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger first announced the upcoming “Avatar” experience during the February 8, 2023 earnings call. Later in the call, he implied the experience would be a “version” of Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. In March, a D23 post said it would be “as amazing” as Pandora – The World of Avatar.

Disney stated during the Imagineering Lunch & Learn that the experience will be at Disney California Adventure, but has not announced more information yet. Disney has been reluctant to call the “experience” a land or ride.
