First Look at Cotino Houses Designed by Shea Homes for First Storyliving by Disney Community

Disney shared a look at new home designs for Cotino, the first Storyliving by Disney community, currently under construction in Rancho Mirage, California. These designs by Shea Homes, one of the homebuilders announced last month, are being shared as part of the pre-sales launch where interested homebuyers can learn more about the community.

“It seems fitting that Cotino, the first Storyliving by Disney community, would have a similar setting as the one that Walt loved so much,” said Walt Disney Archives Director Becky Cline. “Walt enjoyed the Palm Springs area as a creative, rejuvenating retreat and our hope is that it will inspire future homeowners and guests just like it did him.”

These first homes by Shea Homes will have floorplans available only in the Cotino community. “From spacious kitchens with walk-in pantries to large dining rooms perfect for family gatherings,” a Disney Parks Blog post states, “the homes in Cotino community will offer future residents the flexibility to choose an option that works best for them. Open floorplans seamlessly connect indoor space to outdoor courtyards, wrap-around patios and covered terraces designed to truly immerse residents in the beauty of the region.”

Homes will fall within four distinct design collections: Cotino Coachella Collection, Cotino Agrarian Collection, Cotino Oasis Collection, and Cotino Aspiron Collection. Each represents the rich history and landscape of the Palm Springs area. There are options reflecting the beauty and agricultural origins of the Coachella Valley with nods to the region’s mid-century modern legacy, as well as more contemporary styles, Walt Disney Imagineering provided the architectural and aesthetic inspiration for each design collection.

The Cotino community will also offer a voluntary Artisan Club. Club members will be able to dine, gather, and play together in the club’s restaurant, pool, pickleball and tennis courts, and waterfront bar and activity area. Located along Cotino Bay, which will feature clear turquoise waters with Crystal Lagoons technology, club members will be able to swim, kayak, and paddle board in dedicated areas. The club will also be home to the one-of-a-kind Parr House designed to look like the Parr home in “Incredibles 2.” The multi-functional space will be available for members to attend club-hosted events.

The club’s daily enrichment programs will be focused on life-long learning, discovery, and fun. The creative team is planning things like storytelling dinners featuring meals inspired by classic Disney tales, art lessons with Disney artists, and family days with Disney-themed activities and games.

Pre-sales appointments are now available for the initial release which includes a very limited inventory from Shea Homes. Additional home sites and builders will be introduced in phases as the community expands. More information, including additional details about the first available homes and the next steps for scheduling a pre-sales appointment, can be found on the Story of Cotino website.
