Though calling it a ‘Christmas miracle’ may be a bit of a stretch, guests traversing through the Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana walkthrough experience at EPCOT on November 24 discovered that the attraction is currently running with heated water, likely in an attempt to combat low temperatures in central Florida.
Heated Water Running Through Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana at EPCOT
Though more noticeable in some portions of the attraction than others, our reporter noted that the water seemed generally warmer throughout the entire experience. At its lowest point, it felt room temperature, which is a noticeable change from the water that usually runs through Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana.
Our reporter noticed the most significant difference in the “Ocean” section of the walkthrough attraction, specifically in front of the Kakamora wall. While the Kakamora themselves were off and not shooting water as they typically do, the water emerging from the pads on the ground in this portion of the experience was genuinely warm.
The fountains in the nearby rockwork also contained noticeably warm water.
Temperatures are currently quite low at Walt Disney World Resort and across central Florida. It was just over 60°F on the morning of November 24, making the warm water running through Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana a welcomed surprise.
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana opened on October 16 in the World Nature neighborhood of EPCOT. The walkthrough experience incorporates characters and imagery from the 2016 Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Moana” while simultaneously teaching guests about the Earth’s water cycle.
The attraction opened as the final part of a years-long EPCOT reimagining. Its background soundtrack was added to several music streaming services earlier this month.
