A slightly modified rendition of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade was performed at Magic Kingdom on the morning of November 12. The parade is typically performed exclusively for guests attending the separately ticketed Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party events and for day guests throughout the week of Christmas, but this mid-November daytime rendition was performed in front of professional film crews and looks set to be broadcast on ABC as part of the “Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade” special that traditionally airs each Christmas morning.

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade Daytime Performance

Walt Disney World Resort announced two November 12 daytime performances of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade earlier this month. The daytime version of the parade was quite similar to the rendition conducted at the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party of the season on November 9, with a few subtle differences.

The banner displayed at the beginning and end of each parade is a discernible alteration; a “Happy Holidays” banner typically kicks off and closes out the performance, but Cast Members carried a banner that read “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade” on Sunday, indicating that this performance will be broadcasted on the Disney-owned ABC Network on Christmas Day.

Pluto, Pinocchio and Geppetto, Alice and the Mad Hatter, Peter Pan and Wendy, and Donald and Daisy Duck follow the banner down Main Street, U.S.A.

They wear festive scarves just as they do during typical performances of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse follow the dancing troupe on a festive float. The two characters wear holiday-inspired outfits and stand in front of an ornament-and-bow-adorned Christmas tree.

The parade then took a slight diversion from its nighttime counterpart, as the Mickey and Minnie float was followed by Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Rabbit, Piglet, Mary Poppins, Bert, Marie from “The Aristocats,” and Max in his “Goof Troop” attire. They’re all wearing festive scarves.

Tigger, Mary Poppins, and Bert do appear in the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party version of the parade, but they do so alongside the initial group of characters. Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Rabbit, Piglet, Marie, and Max were not seen in the November 9 nighttime performance of the parade.

This group is followed by several bundled-up Cast Members wearing roller blades fashioned as skis. They skate in front of a gingerbread house float that carries Olaf from the “Frozen” franchise.

The float is followed by Anna, Kristoff, and ice harvesters, who dance as Elsa rides down Main Street, U.S.A. behind them.

Her float contains Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post situated in an icy abode.

Vanellope from “Wreck-It Ralph” follows the Elsa float in a gingerbread car.

Chip ‘n’ Dale don chef outfits as they lead in another gingerbread float. They’re surrounded by performers wearing red, green, and white outfits; all of them are holding large swirl lollipops.

The float behind Chip ‘n’ Dale carries Clarice the chipmunk. She debuted in the November 9 nighttime version of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, replacing Wreck-It Ralph.

A group of dancing gingerbread men then lead in a float holding Clarabelle Cow.

Goofy follows, driving his giant candy float.

The Seven Dwarfs follow Goofy, dancing as Snow White and her Prince ride down Main Street, U.S.A. on a regal gazebo float.

They’re followed by Cinderella and Prince Charming in a horse-drawn pumpkin carriage.

The carriage is followed by Perla and Suzy, marking another change from the standard Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. The mice are not present in typical performances.

A group of ballroom dancers leads in a float that carries Belle and the Beast, Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip, Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen, Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder, Ariel and Prince Eric, and the Fairy Godmother.

The float is fashioned after Cinderella Castle and contains several mirrors.

The grand float is followed by an elf on a rocking horse. The horse is followed by dancing elves and costumed teddy bears.

A Toy Solider float is followed by several floats that stick with the toy motif.

The Green Army Men drive in on a festive green vehicle; behind them are several elves who dance with Luxo balls (the yellow ball with a blue stripe and red star that serves as a Pixar icon).

The Green Army Men are followed by a Woody-controlled “Toy Story” float that also holds Buzz Lightyear, Bo Peep, Jessie, Bullseye, and Forky.

They’re followed by the marching toy soldiers and then a float of giant Christmas presents.

A fleet of reindeer dance in front of the final float, which features Santa and Mrs. Claus in their sleigh atop snowy rooftops.

Mrs. Claus did not appear in the first Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade of this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party season.
