Since our last check-in on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom, we’ve seen even more greening to the exterior of the remodeled Splash Mountain. Let’s take a look at all the changes to the once craggy wild-west mountain as it softens into the moss-covered salt mine exterior for the new attraction.

From a distance, the freshly-painted green sections of the mountain are visible behind the scaffolding.

Real and false plants have been added to the area to help create the visual design the imagineers were hoping for.

Painted moss growth helps create the image that the salt mine has been sitting weather-worn in the bayou for some time.

Internal work on the structure of the mountain still requires access holes that have been cut in the structure.

This area had a lot of freshly added dirt at our last check-in, and now we see new trees, shrubbery, and low plants that have been planted here.

This groundcover will spread over time to fill in this space, and should be green all over.

The overall design of this area is much more green than it was in its previous incarnation.

Even more live plants have been installed along the edge here. This plant should also spread and fill this area.

The greenery on the sides has filled in, but you can still see where the individual plants were initially installed, as above. It should fill more completely over time.

This green generator was running today, despite no workers visibly present in the area.

The “Princess and the Frog” inspired retheme of Splash Mountain was first announced in 2020, and the name Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was revealed in 2022.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure picks up after the events of “The Princess and the Frog.” In 1927, Tiana founded the Tiana’s Foods co-ops, which is located in a salt mine, where cultivators grow crops along the waters. During Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Tiana and alligator Louis venture into the bayou to find animal friends. They’re preparing a special Mardi Gras celebration for the people of New Orleans.
